This weekend marked another crop going into the ground, supporting continued major capital upgrades at the curling rink. Next on the docket includes big ticket items like a new roof over the ice surface and ventilation improvements in the lobby.
We are incredibly grateful for the support and volunteers that help make this happen!
Shout out to the following (so far):
- G3 Connection for the land opportunity
- Bourgault Industries for use of their seeding equipment
- Redhead Equipment for harrowing the field last fall
- Scott Hermus for doing the preseed spray, using donated Prospect herbicide from Corteva and Glyphosate from Prairie North Coop
- Brodie Welsh for seeding
- Prairie North Co-op for providing the fuel to keep all the operations running this season
- SWAT MAPS ( Croptimistic Technology Inc.) for soil sampling and providing variable-rate prescriptions
- Brett Young Seeds and Corteva for the donation of canola seed
Once again, big shout-out to Nick Fagnou and Curtis de Gooijer for organizing the whole project!
