🏆 Glen Mori – Sports/Recreation – Award of Service

Glen’s dedication to swimming and youth development in Medicine Hat is truly exceptional. As a founder and president of the Medicine Hat Manta Rays Summer Swim Club, he created opportunities for kids who are not yet ready for full-time competitive swimming or who participate in winter sports. Each summer, the club welcomes 60 to 80 young athletes, providing a fun and supportive environment while also offering employment and mentorship opportunities for teens and young adults as coaches.

Beyond the Manta Rays, Glen coaches year-round with the AMAC - Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club, where his passion, energy, and positivity inspire swimmers of all ages. He organizes fundraising, manages meets, applies for grants, and mentors future coaches, bringing the swimming community together and fostering lifelong skills and confidence. He has also been instrumental in developing coaches’ training programs, helping local youth gain the skills and experience to lead and give back.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first social event of the season! Everyone had a blast learning new skills then putting them to the test in a mini meet. We ended the day with a fantastic potluck!

The wait is over — summer swim season starts TONIGHT at the Big Marble Go Centre!
The Medicine Hat Manta Rays are ready to dive in and welcome both new and returning swimmers to the pool.

Join us at the Big Marble Go Centre from 1–5pm for the Medicine Hat Manta Rays’ first social event of the year!

Swimmers will dive into two mini swim camps + a mini swim meet, while new parents get an intro to the club and officiating clinics (bring a laptop!).

❗️Experienced parents, your clinics start at noon ❗️

We’ll wrap up the day with a team potluck from 4–5pm in the Sage Room—a perfect way to connect, build team spirit, and grow our amazing Manta Rays community.

Ages: 9–17

Day 1: Focus on Freestyle & Breaststroke — drills, technique, and dive starts
Day 2: Focus on Backstroke & Butterfly — drills, technique, and backstroke starts
