Upland Dr Park Outdoor Rink

A big thank you to Jessy for helping at the rink today. The ice is looking better.

I just want everybody to know that I’ve flooded the rink multiple times over the last few days. The western end is usable, (once it finished freezing, of course). The eastern end is still rough, use caution in that end. Hopefully the won’t be any more snow before I get back from work. Water will continue to be added whenever possible.

We would like to apologize to everybody. Things haven’t been working out very well for us this year. Due to Monica’s injury, and my work schedule, we had been in touch with the city, who provided us with a helper. The plan was that this person would help keep the rink up and running when I couldn’t be there. Unfortunately, other than right at the beginning of the season, this person hasn’t contacted us, or been at the rink. both Monica and I have tried to get in touch with him, and left messages, but we’ve received no reply. I was home at Christmas, and did what I could to remove the snow, and get some water down. but I wasn’t able to get much done due to a medical emergency. Hopefully, the warm weather that was there over the last few days melted enough of the snow that water can be put down. There is a friend of ours that can assist Monica with doing that. Once again, we are very sorry for this huge delay. We are doing everything we can to get it up and running. Please bear with us.

We just want to let everybody know that we’ve started work on the rink. We’ll let you all know when it’s up and running.

Also, we would like to remind everyone that we have a variety of kids skates, and some hockey gear if anybody needs it.

Giving a huge shout out to Dominic Leupold and his son Van for helping out with the rink today. I can’t thank you guys enough!

Just a heads up for everybody. I’m working on getting the rink shovelled, so I can get a flood done. Unfortunately I’ve had some health issues over the last month, and my energy isn’t where it normally would be, so it’s gonna take a while. I’m just asking y’all to bear with me, I’ll get it done ASAP.

Afternoon! Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile, but with the weather the way it is, I didn’t see the point in stating the obvious. All in all, the rink held up far better than I expected, but, it’s pretty much “had the biscuit” now. I’m not calling it quits, and if it turns cold again, I’ll be back at it. Just wanted to update everybody.
