Medicine Hat Tennis Club hosted a Tennis Alberta 3.5 star junior tournament this past weekend. Congratulations to our very own Mike and Thomas Fentabil who met in the U16 Final match. It was a great game between brothers, but Mike came out on top with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
We had 50 players from all over Alberta attend and there were some great matches. Rowan and Nirvi also battled hard this weekend but came up short in their respective divisions.
Huge thank you to the coordinating team (Messele, Jess, Erin, Cal & Nick) and to Rose for sharing her amazing baking. Also, thank you to everyone that came out to support our juniors, even in 38 degree weather! We received many positive comments about how welcoming our club is 🎾🩷

We have an exciting weekend of tennis coming up! Our club is hosting a Tennis Alberta Junior Tournament starting Friday July 31 at 8AM. We will welcome 50 athletes from all over Alberta to compete in a 3.5 star tournament for U12 and U16 players.
Come out and support our local players Mike, Thomas, Rowan and Nirvi! Their first games will be Friday morning with Rowan playing at 9AM, Thomas and Nirvi at 10AM and Mike at7PM. Good luck!! 🎾
*Please note that all courts will be in use this weekend (Fri - Sun) so the courts are closed to non-tournament players*

Here are the results for the summer mixed doubles tournament.
Lauren and Riley Danroth defeated Tracy and Mason Heller 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 to win the championship.

On the B side
Reina and Jordan Schibler defeated Sheila and Dave Reinheller 6-1, 6-3

There was some sun and some rain but the Tim Hortons Junior Tennis Tournament was a success! It was a great day of tennis and we want to congratulate all of our players for their hard work and sportsmanship. Special thank you to the tournament organizers Rose, Mike, Maryn and Riley. Also a thank you to the parents that helped with court supervision 🎾

The tournament was played over two days, featuring some fantastic tennis.

Please join us on Saturday night for a dinner (sponsored by co-op) and entertainment provided by Trevor Moore at 6:00PM. For those not playing in the tournament the cost of the dinner will be $15.00 per adult and $5 per child. Sign up in the clubhouse. Entertainment is free for all to attend!
