UPDATE: Softball Sask had their meeting last night and not much has changed besides a couple deadline dates that affect our bids for A (but not with players/releases etc).

Registration is is ON HOLD! SS needs to open it up through RAMP hopefully today and upload a new joint Player Release/District Transfer form. Those things are both *hopefully* happening today. Anyone that has already sent a player release request this year will need to redo it on this new form.

When it is live and working I will send out another update, thanks for your patience! I’ll try my best to keep you in the loop! ❤️💙

Good morning Cubs softball families, we’re getting the hold up sign!

We were all prepared to open our registration and get our player releases going before evals, but after speaking with Softball Sask late yesterday afternoon I was informed the 2026 Player release form on their website will NOT be what’s used for the 2027 season and that they were having an urgent meeting last night with possible rule changes due to all the issues these rule implementations have caused. Since then, the 2027 season has been inactivated through RAMP.

Therefore our season registration is on hold and I’ll be contacting them again today for further direction as this heavily impacts so many of the girls in our association. I’m sorry for the confusion and lack of consistency in their direction on this.

Hang in there with us, we’ll get it figured! 💙❤️

🚨🚨Heads up Cubs 🥎 Families🚨🚨

Registration and evaluations hit very early this year! Due to rule changes and deadlines from Softball Sask we have to start planning already!

We will be running the following programs: U11 A/B, U13 A/B/C, U15 A/B/C, U17 B/C and U19 A (with the possibility of B or a ladies team dependant on registrations!)

If you weren’t a part of last week’s meeting, please be sure to read the long email sent last night explaining all these changes and how that had changed what is expected from our association.

(And a big “Sorry” that all the bullets I used in our parent handout turned into question marks through RAMP email formatting 🥴😖😒)

Registrations opening TONIGHT on our website https://lumsdencubs.ca/

🚨warning LONG POST- but worth the read 🤣

I know it feels like we just wrapped up ball, but here we are already looking ahead to next season! ⚾️

There are some significant changes to the Softball Sask rules and timelines that mean we need to get organized much earlier than we have in previous years, knowing that hockey evals, flag football, travel ball and volleyball starts up right away too… 😖🫠

Some important deadlines (including A-team declarations and player releases/district transfers) have been moved up to September 1 and October 1, as well as other team declarations November 1, rather than happening in February/March just before the season like previous years. This creates a much tighter timeline for associations to plan evaluations, consider teams and tiers as well as coaches for the upcoming season.

To help everyone understand what these changes mean, we will be hosting an Information Night TOMORROW August 18, 2027 at 7:30 p.m. in the Riverpark Meeting Room. We’ll go over the new timelines, what they mean for players and families, and what our plans for evaluations and the upcoming season will look like within these new requirements.

We know this is a big change, and rural associations across the province have been put in a difficult position by these new timelines. We have already submitted concerns and requests for adjustments, but for this season, there will likely be a bit of trial and error as associations navigate the new rules.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through it! ❤️
