THE FIVE PILLARS OF CARR’S MARTIAL ARTS CLUB

Our Foundation. Our Responsibility. Our Future.

Breaking Down Barriers Through Martial Arts

Carr’s Martial Arts Club (CMAC) was created on a simple belief:

«Martial arts should be accessible to everyone—not only to those who can afford it.»

In a time when families and individuals are facing increasing financial pressures, CMAC believes that financial circumstances should never be the reason a child, youth, adult, or family is denied the opportunity to participate, learn, grow, and belong.

Our club is built upon five foundational pillars. These pillars guide our decisions, our programs, our leadership, and the culture we strive to create together.

---

🥋 PILLAR 1 — ACCESS FOR ALL

Free Programs. Open Doors. Equal Opportunity.

CMAC is committed to providing free martial arts programming to our community.

We recognize that today's financial pressures can make recreational opportunities difficult for many families. Children and families should not have to choose between essential household expenses and the opportunity to participate in martial arts.

Our commitment is simple:

«If someone wants to learn, grow, and participate, we want there to be a place for them at CMAC.»

Our goal is to remove financial barriers while creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to develop confidence, discipline, resilience, respect, and belonging.

Our Promise:

«No one should miss the opportunity to discover what they are capable of simply because of financial circumstances.»

---

❤️ PILLAR 2 — COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION

We Don't Just Train in Our Community. We Serve It.

CMAC believes martial arts should extend beyond the walls of the training space.

Each season, CMAC will identify and participate in three meaningful community initiatives:

🍂 FALL — Community Initiative

An opportunity for our members and families to give back as we begin a new season together.

❄️ WINTER — Community Initiative

An opportunity to support those who may need additional assistance during the winter months.

🌱 SPRING — Community Initiative

An opportunity to finish our season by creating a positive impact in our community.

These initiatives may include food drives, clothing drives, fundraising for community organizations, volunteer opportunities, charitable campaigns, or other initiatives selected by the CMAC community.

We want our students to understand that being a martial artist means more than developing physical skills.

It means becoming someone who asks:

«“What can I do to make a difference?”»

Our Promise:

«We train to become stronger individuals—and we use that strength to strengthen our community.»

---

🤝 PILLAR 3 — COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT

Keeping the Opportunity Open Takes All of Us.

CMAC’s ability to provide free programming depends upon the collective effort of our Executive, instructors, volunteers, members, families, sponsors, donors, and community partners.

The Club Executive takes the lead in pursuing grants, sponsorships, partnerships, donations, and other funding opportunities. At the same time, every CMAC member has an important role to play in helping sustain the opportunity that CMAC provides.

Fundraising Is a Must for All Members

Every member is expected to participate in CMAC fundraising efforts. To make this achievable, the club has established a small, reasonable fundraising goal for each term.

These goals are designed to be realistic and attainable while ensuring that every member contributes to the continued success and sustainability of CMAC.

We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, and not everyone will achieve the same results. What matters is that every member makes their absolute best effort to achieve their individual goal.

Fundraising may include:

- Participating in CMAC fundraising campaigns
- Sharing fundraising opportunities with family, friends, and the community
- Supporting fundraising events

The purpose isn't simply to raise money.

It is about creating a culture of shared ownership, responsibility, and pride in what we are building together.

The opportunity to participate in free martial arts exists because people are willing to contribute their time, effort, resources, and support. When we each do our part, we help ensure that someone else can experience the same opportunity.

When we all contribute, we make it possible for CMAC to continue breaking down financial barriers and keeping martial arts accessible to our community.

«Our Promise:

Everyone has a role. Everyone has a goal. Everyone gives their best.»

---

🌱 PILLAR 4 — LEADERSHIP & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

We Don't Just Create Martial Artists. We Develop People.

The ultimate goal of martial arts is not simply earning a black belt.

It is becoming the type of person who deserves to wear it.

CMAC uses martial arts as a vehicle for developing:

- Confidence
- Discipline
- Respect
- Resilience
- Responsibility
- Compassion
- Communication
- Teamwork
- Accountability
- Leadership

Leadership begins long before someone becomes an instructor.

A student helping a new member is leadership.

An older student encouraging someone who is struggling is leadership.

A student volunteering at a community initiative is leadership.

Standing up for someone who is being excluded is leadership.

Taking responsibility for a mistake is leadership.

Leadership is action—not a title.

CMAC will provide opportunities for members to develop leadership skills both inside and outside the training environment.

Our goal is to help create individuals who become:

«Positive role models in the club, positive contributors within their families, and positive members of their community.»

Our Promise:

«We develop leaders who make a difference.»

---

🌟 PILLAR 5 — BELONGING & “NO ONE LEFT BEHIND”

Every Person Matters.

CMAC believes every person deserves to feel that they belong.

Our club welcomes people at different ages, abilities, experience levels, backgrounds, and stages of personal development.

We recognize that everyone learns differently.

Everyone develops at a different pace.

Everyone faces different challenges.

And everyone has something valuable to contribute.

Therefore, CMAC embraces the philosophy:

NO ONE LEFT BEHIND

If someone struggles, we help.

If someone falls, we help them back up.

If someone is different, we don't exclude them—we include them.

If someone lacks confidence, we help build it.

If someone believes they cannot succeed, we help them discover that they can.

All or Nothing

“All or nothing” does not mean everyone has to be the same.

It means we approach our club as one team.

Everyone gets the opportunity to participate.

Everyone deserves respect.

Everyone has value.

Everyone has something to contribute.

And when one person succeeds, we all celebrate that success.

Our Promise:

«Different abilities. Different journeys. One CMAC family.»

---

🌳 THE CMAC FOUNDATION

These five pillars work together:

🥋 ACCESS

Everyone deserves the opportunity.

❤️ COMMUNITY

We use our strength to help others.

🤝 COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT

We all play a role in sustaining the mission.

🌱 LEADERSHIP

We develop people who positively influence others.

🌟 BELONGING

Everyone has a place.

Together, these pillars form the foundation upon which CMAC will continue to grow.

---

OUR MEASURE OF SUCCESS

We don't measure our success only by how many students earn belts.

We measure our success by how many lives we positively influence.

A successful CMAC student isn't simply someone who can perform a technique.

A successful CMAC student is someone who:

Learns.
Grows.
Helps.
Leads.
Serves.
Includes.
And gives back.

That is what it means to be part of Carr's Martial Arts Club.

---

THE CMAC COMMITMENT

🥋 FREE PROGRAMS

Because financial circumstances should never determine a person's opportunity to learn.

❤️ COMMUNITY IMPACT

Because martial arts should make our community stronger.

🤝 COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT

Because keeping our programs free takes all of us.

🌱 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Because our greatest achievement is developing good people.

🌟 NO ONE LEFT BEHIND

Because every person matters.
