Come out for a fun night of curling this upcoming Saturday, October 18th at 7PM at the Lorette Curling Club! Come with family, friends or even solo, for a night out curling! $15 for 8 ends of curling and a mid-game snack!

Day one of ice install complete! The warm weather is making it a little difficult but we will get there. If you haven’t registered for curling yet, please do so at lorettecurling.ca. The season starts on October 2nd!

The Lorette Curling Club had an amazing opportunity this week, due to the working relationship we have with our ice makers. Our ice makers have the opportunity to foster relationships with many professional Canadian and international competitive teams. The competitive junior team from Korea was in Manitoba to play the Dekalb super series in Morris last weekend. It was the first time the event was ever won by a junior team. It’s an accomplishment they can be proud of.

The team wanted to get some practice time in while waiting to go to the next bonspiel so they had heard through our ice makers that our ice conditions were second to none. The team has already indicated that they will be coming again next year if given the opportunity.

Four of our members had an opportunity to play a 6 end exhibition game on Thursday afternoon. These young women are very impressive to watch play. They are currently trying to accumulate enough points to qualify for the B-pool at Grand Slam level and work their way up to the A-pool. I’m sure we will see them represent Korea at the international level in the coming years. Their professional dedication to the sport was something to see. Hopefully we can keep fostering this relationship and see them again next year.

The Lorette Curling Club had the opportunity this week to host a competitive Korean Junior curling team. They had an opportunity to practice in our club and play an exhibition game with some our club members. Their story is being covered on City TV at 6:00pm on tonight’s news.
