Sensei Conroy Copeland and Sensei Kyle Roy in Windsor on June 13th at Mr. Copeland's annual tournament. Another great day of competition for all stakeholders (competitors, coaches and supporters)! This is always a great tournament with high level competition.

This past weekend I traveled to Kingston to attend Hanshi Ken Tallack's 31st Annual Summer Training (June 12-14).

This three day event attracted Budo-ka from all varieties of martial arts with elite/ high level Masters in Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Kobudo, Kung Fu, Iaido, Kendo... and more. It was an impressive showing from the regions wealth of training.

On Friday evening there were lectures (notably Hanshi Tallack's presentation about the history of Karate). On Saturday there was a tournement for youth in morning, followed by 4 hours of 50 minute seminars on approximately 10 mat spaces (equaling roughly 40 separate seminars that afternoon).

There was an amazing catered dinner in the evening followed by some time at a sports bar to round out the day!

Sunday's training begain with 3 hours of training comprised of approximately 30 separate seminars. The final few hours of training on Sunday focused on the initiatives and goals of the DNBK promoting martial arts with distinct lineage to Japanese martial arts and the prefecture of Okinawa!

What stood out most was the martial spirit and commitment to promoting legitimate and authentic martial arts. I'm looking forward to being there next year with a few students. Great experience!

Tom Shamoun and his team hosted the GMA Championships at Conetoga College in Kitchener on June 6th. Many competitors, coaches and supporters cam out to participate and commingle! Congrats!

Get to London for the weekend of July 24-26 and learn much Authentic Okinawan Kobudo: 4 bo kata on Saturday and many Sai, Tonfa and K**a kata on Sunday.

There is a Meet and Greet Dinner at the Mandarin on Wellington on Friday the 24th from 7pm - 9pm. Videos and memories of Master Odo and subsequent training will be shared!

This is always a big martial arts gathering for the region! You will not want to miss it!

April 25th - Mark Yates et al (Promar Karate) hosted a great grass roots karate tournament in Listowel ON. This is always a great event for introducing budo-ka of all ranks to the realm of competition.
