George Softball League SGSL, London's only student-led university softball league. For 9 years, the SGSL has consistently represented 10 teams, and over 100 students from University/Colleges in London, Ontario. Our goal is to enhance the London student experience and as such we not only offer students the chance to play softball, but also offer employment hiring 8-10 league participants as our ump
ires. We are proud to provide teams with jerseys, bats, and other necessary softball equipment. As always, SGSL will be running from September to November this coming school year. The 2017 season will provide brand new equipment, convenient scheduling, day-to-day league updates, and much more. The SGSL has established itself as the largest student operated sports initiative for university students in the London area. Our league draws a strong contingent from various sectors of Western University including Western Law, Richard Ivey Business School, and Huron University College. Even with a solidified contingent, SGSL has aspirations of expansion to include a Fraternity and Sorority division, increasing our leagues potential enrolment to include over 14 teams and 140 players in the coming year. The majority of the players are situated between Richmond Street to Talbot and Oxford to Kent - all within walking distance of Richmond Row. By day they spend their time at school, but as night dawns, a large majority of our athletes spend their time enjoying the nightlife in the downtown core, making frequent stops in many of the restaurants and shops located within this vicinity.
