Our project at 320 King St. was a flurry of activity for most of the day Saturday as a steady stream of cement trucks supplied concrete for the impressively thick raft slabs. A finely coordinated effort that was quite remarkable to watch!

801 Sarnia Rd will soon be home to an 8-storey, purpose-built student residence. On a narrow, wedge-shaped site, this building uses a slim floorplate to maximize natural light, views, and cross-ventilation for 170 units. Recessed walls and full-height glazing carve light-filled niches, while locally sourced brick grounds playful steel siding above.
Zedd Architecture solved the challenges of the tight site, adjacent CN rail line, and surface-only parking by integrating outdoor amenities, rooftop terraces, community pathways, and bioclimatic yellow sunshades that reduce cooling loads and enhance comfort.
