Shining Mountain Dojo offers practical self-defense. We pride ourselves on our traditional roots while still offering self-defense that is practical for today’s society. NOTE: Shining Mountain Dojo London Instructors are on a sabbatical, focusing on their training, skill development, and goals. Private lessons are offered to existing students. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Sensei, Michael J. LaMonica.
He was an inspiration to us all, both in the Dojo and off the mats. Having been the first non-Japanese to obtain the rank of Menkyo-Kaiden Shihan San Dai Kichu, Sensei LaMonica showed us what was achievable with hard work and determination. He was a model of Bushido to his students, passing on to us lessons in Honour, Integrity, Humility and Service.
His physical presence in the Dojo will be missed, but his Spirit will live on through his students and the art he cherished and nurtured.

A successful weekend supporting our American friends at Mountain Oak and Kobaka Dojos as they open their new dojo in the Eighth Light Dojo premises.
