X2O Outdoors

Heading back to one of my favorite fishing spots, armed with the kayak and a plan to put myself right in the current flow in search of some big smallmouth bass.

I've always seen boats anchored in these areas, but they're pretty difficult to reach and fish effectively from shore. That's where the kayak comes in.

This place produces bass on a regular basis — even on a bad day, there always seems to be fish around. It's earned the nickname "The Bass Factory" for a reason, and it's also known to grow some BIG ones.

I've caught some great smallmouth here before, but on this outing I'm hoping The Bass Factory can deliver a 5+ pounder!

I decided to take a little break from catching fish, put the fishing rod down and pick up a cage instead. 😂

Apparently, I was going **skunk hunting!** 🦨

I did manage to have some success... but let's just say the stress level was a little higher than when I'm fighting a fish. Every step of the way I had **one thought running through my head... DON'T SPRAY!** 😂

The viewers made the picks... I had to fish them. Now it's time to see who wins!

For this challenge, I put together two teams using oversized TEMU fishing baits.

Team X2O selected three baits.
Team Viewers selected three baits.

The rules were simple:

Each bait had one chance to catch a fish before being retired.
Teams earned points for every successful bait.
Bonus points were awarded for the total bass bag and biggest fish.

What started as a friendly competition turned into a nail-biter. After Team Viewers lost one of their baits to a pike bite-off, it looked like Team X2O had the challenge locked up...

But fishing has a funny way of changing everything.

Well… I added another kayak to the X2O Outdoors fleet 😎
After spending some time in the Old Town Topwater 106, I decided to finally make the jump into a pedal drive setup. The Old Town 120 Salty PDL.
This new rig is going to open up a ton of opportunities for longer runs, covering water faster, hands-free fishing, and hopefully some pretty awesome new content for the channel.
The crazy part? A few years ago I had a fully rigged boat… then life changed. Selling it was tough. But fishing has a way of keeping you moving forward, even if the path looks different than you planned.
Honestly, I’m just thankful to still be out there chasing fish and making memories any way I can.
Can’t wait to get this thing rigged up and on the water 🎣🔥
