We’re excited to announce that registration packages are now available at the KNS Martial Arts front desk for the 40th Anniversary Shorinjiryu Shinzen Shiai!

This is a fantastic opportunity for our KNS students to travel, compete, train, and connect with members of our extended Shorinjiryu family from across Canada and the United States.

These students competed in weapons kata, brought their best, and earned it. Watching our students step up and perform under pressure — with focus, with precision, with heart — is one of the best parts of what we do here.

We received a message from a Senpai parent this week that we keep coming back to.

Her son is 13. He came to us two years ago struggling in school — distracted, frustrated, not believing in himself much. She wasn't sure karate was "his thing."

This is part of what she wrote:

"He talks about his belt test at dinner. He helps younger kids at the dojo without anyone asking him to. His teachers are noticing a difference. But more than anything — he's proud of himself. That's new."
