You've probably heard us use the term "neutral"... but what does it actually look like in practice? 💭

✨ When lying on your back:
→ triangle formed by your two hip bones and the p***c bone is parallel to the mat
→ lumbar spine (lower back) retains its natural curve with a small space beneath it
→ "deep abs" are activated without the spinal muscles feeling strained
→ ribs are aligned over the pelvis, without popping up or pushing down

✨ When on all fours:
→ slight lumbar curve (lower back) and straight cervical/thoracic spine (neck and upper back) without arching or rounding
→ collar bone and shoulder blade are stabilized without collapsing or locking into place
→ shoulders actively held down, away from the ears
→ arms placed directly under the shoulders or slightly forward of them
→ elbows aligned without a hard, hyperextended lock

✨ When on two feet:
→ feet parallel, hip-distance apart, hip bones and p***c bone on a horizontal plane (neutral pelvis)
→ knees track directly over the second/third toe without falling inward or outward
→ weight evenly distributed through the whole foot or slightly towards heels
→ torso hinges forward, keeping the spine long without tilting the pelvis or rounding the back

Neutral isn't about being in the "perfect position", it's about the subtle tweaks in your form that help you get the most out of your practice 💚
