Here is the 2026 Persistence Backyard Ultra hoodie reveal!
The maple leaf on the sleeve represents the race's status as a silver ticket national qualifying race. The winner of the race (assuming they are Canadian) earns a guaranteed spot on Canada's team for the World Team Championship in October.
The PBYU has been a silver ticket race in each eligible year: 2022, 2024, and 2026.

That's a wrap on The Farthest.
We had an incredibly close finish!
Congratulations to Jonas Johansen for winning with a total of 66.5 kilometres, just edging out Troy Winger who finished at 66.2 k.
Congrats as well to James Bolton and Jessica Labelle who rounded out the 8 hour finishers with 55.8 and 39.1 kilometres respectively.
Thanks to all of The Farthest participants for a great day of running!

Here is your final update for the 8 hour Farthest runners prior to the finish (runners are required to check in every two hours).
At six hours, their "as the crow flies" distances are as follows:
Jonas Johansen: 52.3 k
Troy Winger: 50.8 k
James Bolton: 48.5 k
Jessica Labelle: 29 k
That is only part of the story....their last 2 hour segments were as follows:
Jonas: 13.5 k
Troy: 15.3 k
James: 17 k
Jessica: 9.38

Here is your four hour update.
Congratulations to Taylor Plumb for winning the Half-Farthest with a record setting 49 km (the previous record set last year was 45 k)!
Taylor also holds the 8 hour record with 80 kilometres.
Jesse Fitchett also completed the four hour event. Prior to today, Jesse's longest run was 8 kilometres. Jesse's as the crow flies distance today was 24.81 km!
In the 8 hour event, here is where the four runners stand through the halfway point:
