Last week was one busy week. We teamed up with Amanda Bates labs to carry out a Reef Life Survey to contribute to an ongoing time-series capturing Newfoundland and Labrador’s biodiversity.

We had great weather and great locations.

Check-out dive for Valesca (MUN Student). Perfect conditions and great dive.

We started of this week in Holyrood searching for a deep sea cucumber 🥒. We used a bottom grab device (usually used to collect bottom sediment samples) in order to get lucky and get some cucumbers. Unsuccessful unfortunately. We did however come across a sunfish and got some footage.

At it again, Tappers cove wet in and out the water.

Portugal Cove was stunning this morning and made out great for another epic adventure into the blue.

Collections for Biology in Bread and Cheese Cove, water was clean and flat can’t ask for better conditions.

Leadership and reputation The CRC in Biological Oceanographic Processes and a professor of ocean sciences is the recipient of the A.G. Huntsman Award for Excellence.

This week the sea has been angry and making collections impossible. We will resume once conditions get better. Stay safe.
