What if girls lacrosse weekends weren’t limited by numbers?

What if rural athletes had more opportunities to play, female coaches or coaches of female teams had more chances to connect and grow, and communities worked together to help build the girls game across Alberta? What if there were monetary coach incentives for participating teams?

That’s exactly what Ignite the Net is all about!

We know one of the biggest challenges for rural girls lacrosse and female lacrosse in general is numbers, so this festival is built around development, collaboration and opportunity.

Teams are encouraged to attend with as many of their own players as possible, and where needed, athletes may be worked into rosters to help create meaningful game opportunities and a positive experience for everyone involved. Even if your team only has 6–8 players, we’d love for you to join us!

We’re also excited to create an environment where coaches and associations from smaller communities can learn, and build connections alongside established programs. THIS is how we grow the game!! It takes a village so let’s get started!
