🚨 MASSIVE GOALTENDING UPDATE 🚨

The Barncats are making some BIG moves between the pipes as we prepare for the 2026–27 NPHL season. We’re extremely excited to announce the arrival of TWO new goaltenders who will be joining the Barncats this season.

🥅 WELCOME, STEVE TIERNEY

Joining us from the County Royals, Steve comes to Lindsay through a trade that sent Ethan Taylor and cash considerations to the Royals.

The Toronto native stands at 6'1" and 230 lbs and brings plenty of experience between the pipes. Steve played in the PJCHL, where he posted a .914 save percentage, before continuing his hockey career at Mercyhurst University, where he recorded a .907 save percentage. Over the past three seasons, Steve has competed with both the Centre Hastings Ice Miners and the County Royals, giving him valuable senior hockey experience.

🥅 WELCOME, ALEX LEPIZZERA

We're also excited to welcome Alex Lepizzera to Lindsay after acquiring him from the Durham Hawks in exchange for Chris Porter, Kevin George, and Kirill Merkulov.

The Bowmanville, Ontario native stands at 5'8" and 165 lbs and got his junior hockey experience with the Clarington Eagles of the PJCHL, where he posted save percentages of .918 and .948. Most recently, he suited up for the Gananoque Sr. A Islanders and the Durham Hawks, adding valuable Senior A experience.

We're incredibly excited about the new look between the pipes heading into 2026–27.

At the same time, we'd like to thank Ethan Taylor, Chris Porter, Kevin George, and Kirill Merkulov for everything they've contributed to the Barncats.

Every player who puts on this jersey becomes part of our history, and we wish all four of them nothing but the best in their future seasons.

The Barncats are building. The 2026–27 season is coming. And we're just getting started. 🐾

Give Steve and Alex a huge Barncats Nation welcome!

🚨 THREE NEW SIGNINGS. ONE BARNYARD.

The Barncats are continuing to build for the 2026–27 NPHL season, and today we're welcoming three young players ready to make their mark in Lindsay.

First up, Jacob Sharpe.

The 22-year-old forward from Oshawa stands at 6'4" and brings five years of experience with the Port Perry Mojacks/Lumberjacks of the PJCHL. Over 157 games, Jacob recorded 34 goals, 28 assists and 62 points, while racking up 494 penalty minutes. A big forward with plenty of experience and an edge to his game, we're excited to see what Jacob brings to the Barncats lineup.

Next, we're welcoming Quinn Arnott to the Barnyard.

The 23-year-old Oshawa native is a versatile 6'2" forward/defenceman who can contribute at both ends of the ice. Quinn spent three seasons with the Port Perry Lumberjacks, recording 52 points (17G, 35A) in 96 games, along with 166 penalty minutes. That versatility will be a valuable addition to our lineup as we head into the new season.

Finally, we're excited to announce Zach Naherne.

The 21-year-old, 6'0" defenceman from Oshawa brings an impressive offensive resume to the blue line. Zach spent three seasons with the GOJHL's Caledonia Corvairs, where he recorded 86 points (16G, 70A) in 135 games, along with 98 penalty minutes. Lindsay built. Competing in the UK.

Huge shoutout to local product Johnny Corneil on an incredible run to the NIHL Finals this season. Falling just short in a hard-fought battle, but finishing second in playoffs is no small feat, something to be very proud of.

Even more special? The support behind the scenes. Johnny’s mom, Cathy, is a proud supporter of the Lindsay Barncats, backing the next generation of players coming up through the same community.

That’s what it’s all about.

Local support. Local pride. Players chasing it at the next level.

🖤 Thank You, Barncats Nation 🖤

Sunday’s loss to the Durham Hawks hurts. There’s no way around it. When you pour everything into a season, you always hope for a different ending.

But what will stay with us far longer than the final score is the support we felt from this community all year long.

From opening night to playoffs… from packed barns to road trips… from the loudest cheers to the toughest nights. You showed up. You believed. You brought energy. You wore the colours with pride.

And you helped build something special here in Lindsay.

This season wasn’t just about wins and losses. It was about laying a foundation. It was about creating a culture. It was about bringing Senior A hockey to this community and watching it grow into something that people are proud to be part of.

The atmosphere you created.
The noise.
The passion.
The families.
The kids lining the glass.

That’s what this is about.

To our fans, volunteers, families, sponsors, and every single person who supported us this season, thank you. Truly. None of this happens without you.

We’re proud of the group we built. We’re proud of the fight they showed. And we’re even more excited about what’s ahead. This is just the beginning.

We can’t wait to continue building this team and this community together next season. Bigger. Louder. Stronger.

Until then, thank you for believing in us. 🐾

🏒 Honouring a Local Legacy 🏒

It was an honour to have Kevin Field and Geoff Field represent the Field family for our ceremonial puck drop.

For more than 50 years, the Field family has been a cornerstone of local sports in our community. In 1978, Art Field founded the Little Britain Merchants Jr. C Hockey Club and has served as the team’s inaugural president ever since. His dedication to growing the game in Little Britain and supporting generations of players has left a lasting impact on hockey in our area.

Having Kevin and Geoff drop the puck was a special moment that recognized a family whose commitment to the sport runs deep.

Thank you to the Field family for decades of passion, leadership, and unwavering support of local hockey. 🖤🏒
