When you're reviewing class notes and two students are just casually having a fight to the death in the background....
You don't have to be perfect to start. You just need to start.
Bladeboxing officially starts on Monday, August 10!
There are still a few spots available, so reach out if this interests you!
Over the past several weeks, we've been testing a new training concept called Bladeboxing.
After three beta classes and a lot of student feedback, we've put together a short video showing what Bladeboxing looks like in action.
We're now trying to determine whether there's enough interest to make Bladeboxing a regular class offering.
Take a look and let us know what you think.
If this is something you'd be interested in training, leave a comment, send us a message, or email us at [email protected].
Martial arts and self-defense are not automatically the same thing, and a one-time seminar is not the same as ongoing training.
Martial arts can focus on sport, tradition, forms, fitness, competition, discipline, or cultural preservation.
Self-defense training should focus specifically on personal safety, violence prevention, stress response, pressure, resistance, and practical application.
There can absolutely be overlap between the two, but they are not interchangeable terms.
Likewise, real self-defense is not something most people develop in a single afternoon. Capability comes from ongoing training, repetition, pressure testing, and progressive skill development over time.
If you are looking for self-defense training, ask whether the program is actually teaching self-defense specifically, and whether the training is ongoing or just a one-time event.
Your safety deserves more than a label slapped onto a martial arts class or a one-night crash course.
Due to illness, there will be no Tai Chi or Choy Lee Fut classes tonight

It took me about 10 minutes to lay down the rules of the game: Stab, Block, Redirect, Counter, Repeat.
They're a bit rough, but for only learning it 10 minutes earlier, that's pretty impressive.
