Ever wondered how a sledge hockey frame is made? 👀🏒
Our latest reel takes you through the entire process—from a raw piece of aluminum to a finished frame ready for the ice.
Every cut, bend, weld, and detail is part of creating equipment that athletes can trust when it matters most.

Sometimes a small change isn't really a small change.
While updating one section of our frame, we discovered that 16 other components that integrate with it also needed to be updated. Every single piece has to be adjusted, fitted, and tested to ensure everything works together perfectly.
The good news? When parts are designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind, making those updates is quick and straightforward.
This is the reality of custom fabrication—one change can create a ripple effect throughout an entire system. Precision, planning, and attention to detail make all the difference.
Microscopic margins = Elite performance. 🏒❄️
Nailing tolerances in the shop tonight for a piece of gear where precision is everything. This is a custom blade holder for a sledge hockey sled. The blueprint called for 1" +/-0.005". We locked it in at 0.9982"—just -0.0018" off dead center.
Why get that obsessive over 0.0018 inches?
Because on the ice, sledge hockey athletes are flying at high speeds, leaning into sharp turns, and relying entirely on the rigidity of their frame.
To put -0.0018" into perspective:
🔬 Take a standard sheet of copy paper and slice it in half edgewise.
👶 It’s thinner than a single strand of baby hair.
🌼 It's the size of a single grain of spring pollen.
When an athlete is digging into the ice, that microscopic margin means zero play, maximum power transfer, and total control. Needless to say, this blade holder is absolutely spot on and ready for battle. 🛠️🔥
The gear has to match the grind of the athlete.
🚀 WE’RE BACK IN THE SHOP! 🚀
Just over a month ago, I stepped back into the shop to do what we do best: build. 🛠️
As some of you know, Grey Space Adaptives paused operations a couple of months ago. We needed to step back, evaluate our path, and realign with our founding mission: to solve problems, bridge gaps, and create elite adaptive equipment. Somewhere along the way, we lost our focus. We needed to get back to our core values.
Thanks to the incredible guidance of our mentors, advisors, and athletes, we have a rock-solid, staggered plan to return to full production with unmatched quality, clarity, and longevity.
📈 The Comeback Timeline:
🗓️ End of June: Our latest version of picks will be completed and fully tested.
🗓️ Next Up: A revamped bucket design & production process. Every single bucket will now be impact-tested before it ships. 💥
🗓️ End of August 2026: Our latest sleds return! We've re-engineered them for easier manufacturing, faster turnaround, and stricter quality control.
This isn't just a restart—it’s a promise to build better.
To every athlete, mentor, and supporter who has stuck by us and helped us grow: THANK YOU. Your belief in us is the fuel behind this next chapter. Let’s get to work! 💪🔥
I believe this box is about to revolutionize our sport. I can't tell you yet but something very new is happening and I am stoked about it!
This was wild to watch. To here a legend of the game state "it's amazing how far equipment has come" and then hold up one of our Stratus sleds is just mind blowing. Although I don't believe we have any sleds in competition at the paralympic games; I look forward to the 2030 games when over 50 percent of the competition sleds will be Grey Space Adaptives sleds. Oh yeah and if you want to see a World class sledge hockey goal watch the first goal of the canada vs Japan game. My jaw dropped with the skill and patience of
