As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen long-term athlete development across the province, Basketball BC is expanding our grassroots development pathway programming opportunities to U10-U12 athletes.

Ignite Camp sessions are co-ed and will focus on:
• Fundamental skill development
• Decision-making through small-sided games (SSG)
• Injury prevention and movement education

Our goal is to make these sessions accessible, inclusive, and development-focused while continuing to grow the game throughout British Columbia.

Registration Deadline: August 13, 2026

FEES:
$75 per session
$250 for all four sessions

The U13 Boys got next.

The U13 Boys NXT Camp is focused on introducing and familiarizing high level players with Canada Basketball concepts and style of play.

Players at camp will also have the opportunity to be identified for future participation in the Canada Basketball Junior Academy program.

Space is limited to a maximum of 50 campers.

NEXGEN summer prep on the island.

Basketball BC is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt McKay as the organization’s next Executive Director, effective June 22, 2026.

Matt transitions into the role from his position as Manager, Boys High Performance and Youth Development, where he has been instrumental in advancing athlete pathways and strengthening programming across the province.

“Matt brings a deep understanding of our organization, a strong commitment to the basketball community, and a proven track record of leadership,” said President Stu Graham.

Matt shared, “I’m excited and honoured to step into this role and continue building on the foundation we’ve established, supporting the growth of basketball across British Columbia.”

We also extend our sincere thanks to outgoing Executive Director Shawn Dheensaw for his leadership and contributions.
