๐ Miss Carol Update ๐
After six wonderful years as part of the amazing admin team at Langley Dance Academy, my role behind the scenes is coming to a close.
While you wonโt be seeing me at the front desk or posting on our social media pages as often, Iโm not going far! Iโll still be teaching on Tuesdays, so Iโll continue to see many of your smiling faces each week.
LDA has truly changed my life in so many ways. What started as a love for dance grew into opportunities I never could have imagined.
As I step into this next chapter, Iโm excited to begin a new opportunity in the marketing industry. While change is always bittersweet, Iโm incredibly grateful for everything this studio has taught me and for all the families who have supported me along the way.
Thank you for all of the moments that have made the past six years so special. Thank you for trusting me with your children, and for making LDA feel like a second home. Being part of your dance journey has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
This isnโt goodbye, just a new chapter. Iโll still be around every Tuesday, cheering on your dancers and doing what I love most. ๐
With love,
Miss Carol

From Company and Spotlight Auditions to a well deserved pizza party and another exciting day of Ballet and Acro auditions, we have had an absolute BLAST together over the past two weekends!
We are beyond proud of the hard work, passion, determination, and heart our dancers brought to every moment. Watching you (yes, YOU! ๐คฉ) challenge yourselves, support one another, and shine so brightly reminds us why we love what we do.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing up, giving it your all, and making these past two weekends so special. โค๏ธ

๐ GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT | ALEXYS STORY ๐
Alexys has grown up at LDA since she was 3, and it has been such a joy watching her grow over the years and develop into the strong, expressive, and dedicated dancer she is today.
Alexys has consistently shown commitment to her craft, always pushing herself while also bringing a fun, grounded energy into the studio. It has been incredible to watch her journey and see her grow from a tiny talented dancer into a beloved teacher within our LDA family.
We are so proud of everything she has accomplished and so grateful to have been part of her dance journey. We love you so much Alexys, we are always cheering you on!
๐ Favourite LDA Memory:
One of my favourite memories from LDA was when we did the Vultures dance. That was the first musical theatre dance I ever did, and from that moment on I loved musical theatre. It was such a fun, funny dance filled with kids of all ages, and it made me realize I always wanted to dance with my best friends in a fun, funny way forever.
๐ฉฐ Advice for Younger Dancers:
A piece of advice I have for the younger generation is to never stop showing up. Even on those hard days, when you just want to give up, donโt. Keep working hard and your dedication will get noticed.
๐ Future Plans:
I am going to dance in The Source Dance Company next year, and possibly take a class or two at UBC Vancouver towards my Psychology degree. I will also be teaching at LDA on Mondays and Sundays!
Help us congratulate Alexys on her graduation! โจ

๐ GRAD HIGHLIGHT | MIA KERTON-SANKER ๐
Mia has grown up at Langley Dance Academy, beginning her journey here in 2011 at just under 3 years old. From her very first classes to years spent training, performing, and learning within the studio, LDA has been a constant part of her life and development.
As she grew as a dancer, Mia naturally stepped into assisting classes, where she quickly discovered a love for working with younger dancers and supporting their growth. What started as helping in class soon turned into a real passion for teaching, and it has been incredible to watch her step into that role.
We are beyond proud of everything Mia has accomplished and so grateful to have been part of her journey for all these years. We love you so much Mia, we are always cheering you on!
๐ Favourite LDA Memory:
Miss Seina hugs! Hands down, the best part of being at LDA is the love you feel from your teachers. They hold a special place in my heart and knowing that I have a special place in theirs is something I will always cherish.
๐ฉฐ Advice for younger dancers:
Enjoy every moment. After the costumes & awards are packed away, the fun you had with your dance family will be the one thing youโll carry with you. Dance friends really are the best friends!
๐ Future Plans:
I have been accepted into SFU to begin my Bachelor of Arts degree, and I will also be continuing my professional dance training with Harbour ITP in Vancouver. I will be teaching at LDA on Saturdays and Sundays next season, so be sure to come say hi!
Help us congratulate Mia on her graduation! โจ

๐ GRADUATE SPOTLIGHT: JERSEY BARBOSA ๐
Itโs hard to imagine LDA without Jersey! She joined Langley Dance Academy in 2011 at just 3 years old, and weโve had the privilege of watching her grow up in the studio ever since.
Over the years, Jersey has become not only a beautiful dancer, but also someone our younger students look up to. She is kind, hardworking, supportive, and always brings a positive energy to class. Whether sheโs helping a teammate, encouraging our younger dancers, or simply showing up each week with a smile, Jersey leads by example and has truly left her mark on our studio.
We are beyond proud of everything she has accomplished and so grateful to have been part of her dance journey for all these years. We love you so much Jersey, we will always be cheering you on!
๐ Favourite Memory at LDA:
My favourite memories will always be watching my friends perform their solos from backstage. The process of hyping them up before they go on, cheering as they perform, and the immediate hug as they exit will always remain a core memory of mine.
๐ฉฐ Advice for Younger Dancers:
To ultimately dance for yourself. Every judge will have a different opinion, and the score you receive is subjective. Your worth and value is not determined by the opinion of others!
๐ Future Plans:
In the long run, I plan to move to Ontario to reunite with family. I plan to attend college in Ontario and study to become a part of the funeral industry, though which role is still to be determined.
Help us congratulate Jersey on her graduation! โจ

Flipping into Day Four of Photo Week! ๐คธ๐
A quick reminder to help keep everyone safe and things running smoothly for dancers, families, and our neighbouring businesses:
Drop off is at the back of the building (Studio D back door), and pick up is at the front of LDA. If possible, please drop off and return once photos are finished to reduce parking lot congestion, and avoid waiting or loitering in the lot.
Please drive slowly and stay alert at all times, watch for pedestrians, and use designated parking spots around the building, including along the back fence. Avoid blocking bay doors, parking in aisles, or stopping in marked no stopping areas.
Safety always comes first, thank you for your care and cooperation dance families!
