Skaters registered in this program are provided with a pair of speed skates (while supplies last). If the skater prefers they may use their own skates (hockey, figure, or speed). Spaces are limited. This program costs $75 which includes Club program fees along with Speed Skating BC and Speed Skating Canada memberships.

COME TRY SPEED SKATING
We offer an introductory ‘Come Try’ program. This program offers skaters the chance to try out speed skating for three sessions with our group one skaters. Skaters registered in this program are provided with a pair of speed skates (while supplies last). If the skater prefers they may use their own skates (hockey, figure, or speed). Spaces are limited. This program costs $75 which includes Club program fees along with Speed Skating BC and Speed Skating Canada memberships. Registration and payment system fees are not included and will be added at checkout. Come Try fees can be credited to full memberships if the skater joins the club for the season.

We are currently offering two intake streams, skaters may register for one:

100m Track Skaters | $105 (drop-in $30)
These sessions are for skaters aged 6 and up, the focus is on encouraging fun while developing agility, balance, and coordination. Skaters should be able to skate independently for at least one lap around the rink, follow the rules, adhere to basic safety guidelines, and display good behaviour. This session will be held on the 100-meter track.

📣 Calling all Competitor Stewards!

Are you organized, detail-oriented, and able to stay calm under pressure? The Competitor Steward/Sport Expert plays a vital role in competition success by working alongside the Meet Coordinator and Chief Referee to prepare race rounds and ensure skaters are assigned to the correct races.

To support the development of this essential officiating role, Speed Skating BC is offering an in-person Competitor Steward Clinic on June 13, 2026, at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

This full-day clinic will be facilitated by Tina Peters, International Competitor Steward (Short Track) and Sport Expert (Long Track).

Whether you're looking to expand your officiating skills or take the next step in your speed skating journey, this is a great opportunity to learn from one of Canada's leading experts.
