Happy Day 8 of the 2026 Calgary Stampede! Today is Friday, July 10, and you’re heading into one of the biggest and busiest days of Stampede. Here are some fun facts:

🤠 1. You’re in the final weekend rush
Friday of the second weekend is traditionally one of the busiest days of Stampede, with huge crowds arriving for the rodeo, concerts, midway, and evening show.

🐂 2. The rodeo is getting intense
By Day 8, competitors are battling for spots in Showdown Sunday, where the champions are crowned and the biggest prize money is awarded.

🎡 3. The Midway is open late

🏇 4. Every evening features the “trifecta”
Each night includes:

* The Rangeland Derby Chuckwagon Races
* Relay Races
* The spectacular Grandstand Show
* A huge fireworks finale around 11 p.m.

🎺 5. The Calgary Stampede Showband is everywhere

🎶 6. Live music is everywhere
Today features performances across venues like Nashville North, the Coca-Cola Stage, and The Big Four Roadhouse, making Friday one of the liveliest music days of the festival.

🤠 7. “Yahoo!” isn’t just a saying
The official greeting of the Calgary Stampede is “Yahoo!” If you hear it today, don’t be shy—shout it right back!

Fun trivia:
Many competitors at community and regional rodeos dream of one day competing under the bright lights of the Calgary Stampede Rodeo. For many, it’s considered one of the most prestigious invitations in rodeo.
