The Sea Dragons enjoyed the 2026 Westwood Lake races on Saturday,July 18th and came home with a special prize!
The team got into the “Wild Westwood” spirit and went all out by decorating their tent as the SeaDragons Saloon. They also dressed the part as cowgirls and cowboys and led by the Saloon girl herself, coach Mary. the team won first prize for best tent ,bringing home a cooler of refreshments!
The racing consisted of 3-200 meter races, although no prizes were won, the team improved on their times with each race.
It was really a lot of fun, and it was also great to have the SOS team right there cheering us on.
What a great club we have here in Ladysmith!

Our “funpetitive” team Sea Dragons had a great day on the water at the Sproat Lake Festival on June 7th. The weather conditions were varied, at one point there was talk of maybe cancelling because of the winds. Thankfully, they miraculously died down and we continued on to end up in 7th place out of 14 teams. Our result was better than last year as we shaved 10 seconds of our race times! Although we didn’t win any medals (only top 3 out of 14 did), our Captain, Suzanne, made us all a beautiful souvenir for the day.
We are looking forward to more racing this season!
