🏊 Lifeguard Appreciation Day!!!!!
Today, we recognize the lifeguards who help keep Manitobans safe in and around the water. Our lifeguards do much more than watch our dock and waterfront. They train extensively, respond in emergencies, promote safe behaviours, and help prevent incidents before they happen.
A GIANT Thank You to our Dream Team! Thank you for supporting all patrons, being encouraging and passionate about your role in Lac du Bonnet. We appreciate you so much!
Brady, Paige, Mia, Ben, Abigail, Piper and Holly - it is an honor to work with you! (-Director)

Hear ye, Hear ye, voyageurs!
Before our "Children of the Fur Trade " adventure begins Saturday August 1, we'd like to give a hearty "merci " to the amazing local businesses that have signed on as our official Trading Posts throughout the month of August.
Deals for Dollars , Grans Bakery , Cindy Lou's Coffee & Catering , Lac du Bonnet Library , Yellow Door, & Carnation Plus.
They've agreed to welcome our young voyageur agents as they travel from post to post, completing their adventures and keeping the spirit of the Fur Trade alive. We couldn't do it without their generosity & community spirit !
So if you spot a few determined explorers making the rounds with maps in hand, don't be surprised - they're not searching for Wi-Fi ...they're searching for their next Trading Post!
Thank you to all of our participating businesses for helping us turn our community into a Fur Trade adventure. Your support helps history come alive for the next generation of voyageurs, and we're grateful to have you on the journey.

Hello Lac du Bonnet!
Swim lessons will NOT be cancelled, and lifeguard hours will not change due to the inconvenience. Please keep yourself comfortable and follow the recommendations. Swimmer's itch is not dangerous or contagious; it goes away on its own.
Please do not hesitate to reach out, you may contact the Town office at 204.345.8693.
I appreciate your understanding and apologize greatly for this. I hope you are enjoying your summer.
The Province of Manitoba has just confirmed that there is confirmed swimmer's itch at the Lac du Bonnet Beach.
Swimmer’s itch is caused by a parasite that is naturally found in many Manitoba lakes. It is a temporary skin irritation that is annoying, but not dangerous. It does not affect any parts of the body other than the skin. If swimmer’s itch is contracted, anti-itch medications will help symptoms.
There is no laboratory test for swimmer’s itch. If an individual contracts swimmer’s itch, or knows of a confirmed case, we ask that they report it via email at [email protected], or via telephone at 204-945-0002 (toll free at 1-800-282-8069 ext. 0002).
People are reminded to avoid swimming in shallow areas with aquatic plants and snails, as higher densities of swimmer’s itch may be found in these areas. Towelling down vigorously or taking a shower immediately after leaving the water will also help remove the swimmer’s itch parasite.
