This young and talented athlete, who stood out during last year's season, has signed with the esteemed Kiepo league, taking a significant step towards realizing his hockey dreams.

The National Junior Hockey League (NJHL) and the Kitimat saax Junior A Hockey Club are pleased to announce a one-year deferral of operations for the team. The Kitimat saax will be taking a brief hiatus and will re-enter the league for the 2024-25 hockey season. This decision comes as a result of the team's strategic transition from their previous league, GMHL to the NJHL, with the full support and cooperation of the District of Kitimat.

The one-year hiatus is seen as an opportunity for the Kitimat saax to prepare and adapt to the new league's structure, rules, and competitive environment. The team aims to make a strong comeback in the 2024-25 season, demonstrating their commitment to achieving success within the NJHL.

League spokesman, Kevin Filipowski, expressed his enthusiasm for the return of the Kitimat saax and other BC operators who have displayed interest in joining the NJHL. Notably, municipalities like Prince Rupert and Smithers have shown interest in becoming part of the league, contributing to the excitement surrounding the league's growth and potential expansion.
