What a way to kick off Dragon Boating Season 2026 🚣‍♀️🔥

Our first clinic on May 3rd was all about welcoming prospective new paddlers, reconnecting with our incredible team members after the winter hiatus — and putting strength, endurance, and resilience to the test.

From the energy on the water to the unstoppable attitude on land, this women-only crew showed exactly what we’re made of. The weather, the vibes, the hustle — everything just clicked.

This is only the beginning for Northern Spirit — and we can’t wait for what’s ahead.

A fantastic turnout for the Introduction to Dragon Boating session, hosted by Northern Spirit, held on Sunday, April 19 at Minette Bay Marina!

With perfect conditions and 16 eager new paddlers, the energy on the water was incredible. The success of this event sparked the idea of making an Intro Session a yearly tradition — and we love that direction and couldn’t agree more.

The Intro session truly showcased the teamwork, community, and heart that make Northern Spirit so special. 🌊 🛶 🥳

What a phenomenal weekend we had in Toronto! Although we did not medal this time here are a few highlights:

-Completed 6x 500 meters and 2x 200 meter races in 48 hours !

- Competed in both mixed (80 teams) and women’s (11 teams) divisions, being only 1 of 2 women’s teams to do this !

- Bettered our times in multiple races!

- Reminded ourselves how strong, united and fearless we are !

- Made memories and friendships to last a lifetime!

We are now looking to our next challenge in 2026 and come out strong, fierce and fearless! Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters this season!

Tomorrow is the day we leave for Toronto! We will be competing in both the mixed and women’s divisions of the Toronto Tim Hortons Dragon Boat Festival! We will have our Norther Spirit banner with us to showcase our amazing sponsors who helps get us to where we are today!
