Our school horses are family — and we believe the horses who teach our riders deserve to be cared for throughout every stage of their lives including the retirement stage.

Our school horses are either active show horses or lovingly semi-retired show horses. Every horse receives properly fitted tack and equipment, regular veterinary care by Bennett Equine Vet and farrier care by Kellie Vissor, blanketing, massage by Ashley - Equine Bodyworker and chiropractic support as needed, quality grain by Masterfeeds Horse Feeds , hay and supplements by Mad Barn , stalls with comfort mats, daily turnout, and a carefully managed workload for each individual horse.

And when a horse has given us all they can, they retire with us. They remain part of the Valiant family, because their value to us has never been measured by what they can do for us.

After all, they spent years teaching our riders.
The least we can do is give them a forever home. 🤎🐴

Not all show programs are built the same.
At Valiant Equestrian, we’ve created a boutique show program where quality always comes before quantity. By keeping our team smaller than other show team of our caliber, every horse-and-rider partnership receives individualized coaching, personalized goal setting, and dedicated support before, during, and after every competition from the Valiant Equestrian Staff.

Our team is led by Licensed Equestrian Canada Coach Emily with national and international competition experience. We combine proven training methods, sport-focused mental performance, and individualized goal setting to develop confident, knowledgeable horsepeople.

We don’t just teach riders how to ride a course—we teach them how to think, prepare, problem solve, communicate with their horse, and continue improving long after they leave the ring.

Meet Kit’s Got Grit (“Kit”)—a stunning chestnut Appendix mare with the elegance, athleticism, and rideability of a quality show horse. A true three-ring horse, Kit has proven herself in the Hunters, Equitation, Hack, Derby, and Jumper rings, making her an exceptional partner for a rider looking to continue developing and moving up the levels.

Kit has successfully shown for multiple seasons, including the Meadowlarke High-Low Division up to 2’6”, where she has proven herself to be consistent, competitive, and reliable. She is currently showing on the Silver Circuit, where she has successfully competed in the 3’0” Hunter divisions and is preparing a junior rider for their first ranked show in the 2’6”–2’9” Small Horse divisions. Kit has shown 2’9” with ease and continues to demonstrate the scope, talent, and confidence needed to progress in the show ring.

With her soft, sweeping movement, rhythmic canter, and classic hunter expression over fences, Kit is a standout in the ring. She is a lovely mover with the balance, adjustability, and quality judges reward. Kit is easy to frame, comfortable in a variety of divisions, and has the rideability needed to help a junior or amateur rider continue improving.

Kit has established lead changes, is an Eq-winning mount, very supple and soft, adjustable to the fences, and is a willing, honest partner. She is brave to the jumps and not one to look for a way out, giving her rider confidence while still allowing them to develop their own skills and feel. Kit does require 20 minutes of lunging prep work at shows.

Professionally schooled on a consistent basis, Kit continues to progress while maintaining the kind, willing attitude that makes her such an enjoyable horse to have in a program. Whether your goals are Hunters, Equitation, Derbies, or stepping into the Jumper ring, Kit has the versatility and experience to help her next rider succeed.

Away from the show ring, Kit is every bit as special. Sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented, she loves attention and will happily stand for hours to be groomed, bathed, clipped, braided, and loved on. She trailers, stands quietly for the farrier and veterinarian, and is a pleasure to have around the barn.

Kit is an exceptional opportunity for a confident junior or amateur rider looking for a competitive, quality horse with the talent to continue moving up the levels. Meet Our Sweet Jenna ("Jenna")—a stunning 17.1 hh registered Thoroughbred mare with a wealth of experience, an incredible work ethic, and a heart of gold. A true schoolmaster, Jenna is a proven amateur-friendly winner who has spent years helping riders build confidence and achieve success in the show ring.With extensive experience in Hunters, Jumpers, Derbies, Eventing, Dressage, and Show Jumping, Jenna is a versatile, educated partner who knows her job inside and out as a mare who used to show the 1.30's. Despite her impressive height, she is remarkably adjustable, balanced, and handy, making her just as enjoyable in the derby ring as she is in the jumper ring.

Jenna has successfully competed over her many, many years of showing, consistently proving herself in the Jumper and Derby rings. She has shown from cross rails through 2'9" Hunters and up to 1.30 in her many years of competing, giving her the experience and confidence and school master ride to her amateur riders with ease.
Today, Jenna is best suited to riders competing 0.75 m and under, where she continues to excel as a confidence-building partner. brave, honest, and forgiving, she is not one to stop, buck, or look for excuses. She is straightforward to the fences, loves her job, and gives her rider confidence every trip around the ring.

Professionally maintained and carefully cared for, Jenna continues to enjoy regular work and thrives on having a rider of her own. She is responsive and rewarding to ride while remaining sensible and uncomplicated enough for amateurs and juniors looking to continue developing their skills.
