The Kingsville Knights U13 girls fastpitch team finished second in the province after earning silver at the 32-team OSSTA Selects Provincial Championships in Forest Glade this past weekend.

The Knights opened the Tier 1 tournament by going undefeated in pool play Saturday, beating Waterloo-Garlund 9-8, Oakville Sr. 15-3, and Forest Glade 12-5. Team MVPs on the first day included Maddie Cardoso, Mia Black, and Jasmine Charissé.

On Sunday, Kingsville faced a second Waterloo team in the quarterfinals, winning 12-7 before beating Whitby 13-2 in the semifinals, earning the right to play in the championship.

In the final game, Kingsville faced a dominant pitcher from Toronto’s Topham Park, who held the Knights to just one run over the first four innings. The Knights fought back in the final frame, but five runs in the fifth weren’t enough to overtake the tough Toronto team, falling 12-6 in the final.

Maya Carey earned MVP in the final game. After pitching a strong first inning, Carey was hit in the face mask by a line drive early in the second, temporarily forcing her out of the game. She returned in the fifth to strike out Topham’s final batter of the game.

The tournament included several key plays for the Knights:

- Turning three double plays over the weekend, including two by Charissé.
- Catchers Avril Herrera and Gemma Melo caught six girls stealing.
- Melo added a foul-ball catch tight to the dugout fence and put down three key bunts over the span of the tournament.
- Ella Fleming played crisp defence at shortstop, throwing out eight runners.
- Cardoso caught two unaware runners at first base, tagging them out.
- Fly-ball catches by Khloe Willms-Cook in CF and Mia Black in LF.

The entire championship weekend was highlighted by dominant pitching from Charissé and Carey, along with strong hitting up and down the 12-girl lineup.

The silver medal ends a magical season for the U13 Knights, who posted a 27-3 record, earned a berth in Tier 1 of the provincial championships, and won two golds and two silvers in their four tournaments.

These girls are walking away from the season with two medals Silver and Bronze and an impressive 10-4 record

The growth, confidence, teamwork, and determination we’ve seen from these young ladies throughout the season has been amazing. They’ve worked hard, supported each other, and continued to improve every step of the way.

It’s clear that Kingsville Fast Pitch is moving in the right direction, and we couldn’t be prouder of this incredible group of girls! 💙

A complete-game no-hitter by Maya Carey highlighted the Kingsville Knights U13 girls fastpitch gold-medal performance this past weekend in Oakville.

The Knights opened the tournament with a 20-0 win over Nippissing, with Carey striking out 11 over four innings. Kingsville followed with a 14-2 win over Richmond Hill and a 14-0 shutout of Oakville to earn the number one seed and the gold medal in a tournament shortened by rain. Jasmine Charissé and Allyssa Herrera also pitched for Kingsville, neither allowing a single run during their outings.

Home runs by Mia Black and Shannon Moncur led the strong offensive outing for the Knights, who outscored their opponents 48-2 over three games. Ella Fleming, Maddie Cardoso, Izzy Iatonna, and Allyssa Herrera all added triples. Every other player recorded multiple hits over the day and were very active on the base paths.
The tournament championship is the second this season for the Knights as they prepare for OSSTA provincials August 22nd and 23rd in Forest Glade.

The Kingsville Selects U11 Fastpitch team put together an impressive performance this past weekend, going undefeated through five games to capture the Whitecaps Selects Championship on August 8 in Leamington.

Battling through the heat and 12 hours on the diamonds, Kingsville showed outstanding teamwork and determination from the opening pitch to the final out. Leading the way in the circle were Payton, Audrey, Kenzie, and Grace, who delivered strong performances throughout the tournament.

Defensively, Kingsville was solid from start to finish, with the infield providing excellent support behind their pitchers. At the plate, contributions came from throughout the lineup, including several clutch hits at key moments.

It was a complete team effort, with every player playing an important role in the championship run. Paisley, Addi, and Payton each earned Player of the Game honours for their performances.

Congratulations to the Kingsville Selects U11 on an undefeated tournament run and their second tournament championship of the season!

What a season! These kids played their hearts out and had an absolute blast this year! Thank you to our coaches for taking the time to teach these young athletes and improve their game.

The U9 Kingsville Eye Care – Dr. Robert McCormick hardball season wrapped up in championship fashion, capping off an impressive season with a perfect 5–0 tournament record and an overall record of 13–1.

Kingsville T2 captured the championship with a 19–13 victory over Essex. Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic game!

A huge thank you to our players, coaches, parents, sponsors, and league organizers for making this such a memorable season. This is one we’ll never forget!
