We had some different escapes!
(You can bet the goats were out, too! 😂)
The horses got to meet Boomer and Blossom! They weren’t afraid at all, but so curious 🥰

I spy with my little eye…
A Josie hiding in the trees 👀🌴
When we first moved to our farm nearly 10 years ago these trees were just babies. My husband insisted on clearing them when cutting the pasture.
I knew they’d grow to provide excellent shade and a great way to get a good scratch in from dealing with the flies 🦟
So he let them be 🥰
. and look at the trees now 😀😍

This summer, I’ve learned how to release tension and help our horses relax through bodywork, and it has been an incredible experience that I’m so grateful for. ❤️
Horses are prey animals by nature, so even in pasture—their most comfortable and natural environment—they can still carry and hold onto unnecessary tension and stress. There are ways we can help them release that tension, and it’s amazing to see the difference.

Lip licking, dropping their head, yawning, and sometimes small or large releases from their joints can all be signs of relaxation and release during bodywork. Watching that moment when they finally let go is pretty amazing. 🥰🐴
*I am NOT a professional and only practice bodywork on our own horses here at the farm.*
There’s something pretty special about early mornings on the farm. 🤍🌅
While disassembling the round pen panels this morning, we stumbled across this perfect little web, covered in early morning dew and catching the first light of the sunrise. 🕸️✨
The nights are getting cooler, the mornings are crisp, and you can definitely feel that little hint of fall in the air.
As we head into our LAST camp week of the summer, I can’t help but feel a little sad that summer is coming to an end. 🥹☀️ But more than anything, we are feeling incredibly thankful and grateful for what has been an absolutely incredible summer at Bur Creek Farm.
So many memories made, so many smiling faces, and so many little farm moments we’ll cherish. 🐴❤️
And don’t worry… there’s still lots to come! 🍂🐴
We have lots of seasonal events in the works, and PA Day Camps will be opening for registration soon!
Stay tuned — we can’t wait to share what’s next! 🤎
