Cubs season comes to close after losing game two 8-3 in extra innings. A tight game all the way until we gave up 5 in the 8th. Just couldn’t get the bats going tonight. Spoiled a great game from Hunter on the mound, he was shoving with his best stuff all night. Gotta hand it to the Angels, they played a mistake free series and deserved the win. Best of luck in the Finals to both Rosetown and Oyen!
Thank you to everyone for all the support throughout the season! It does not go unnoticed. Not the result we wanted but another great season from all the boys. Looking forward to the next several years with this crew. We’ll see everyone in the spring when hibernation is over! Go Cubs!

If you’re looking to watch some local baseball, today is the day for you! Catch the finals of the Oldtimers tournament this morning at 10:00 and 12:30 on Berard Field. Then grab a drink and a burger and pit in for a potential playoff doubleheader tonight. Rosetown leads the best of 3 series 1-0 heading into tonight’s 6:00 contest. If the Cubbies can pull out the W then Game 3 will take place immediately after. Rumour has it the barbecue and beer gardens will be open all day long. Can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday. We’ll see you there.
The Toronto Maple Cubs are at it again. Playoff woes made the trip to Rosetown tonight as the Cubs drop the opening game 11-8. Bats started hot but cooled off a bit as the sun went down. As we already knew going in, their bats can sure heat up as well. Thought this one might end up looking like a football score at one point. Backs against the wall coming home, gotta win a pair on Sunday to keep the season alive. Get down to the ballpark and cheer the boys on!
After a long week off, it’s finally playoff time! The Cubs hit the road tonight for Game 1 of the FVBL semi-finals in Rosetown. A crucial opening game between two evenly matched teams, before the series shifts to Kindersley on Sunday. Hoping to leave the playoff woes at home this time. 7:00 first pitch tonight!
Playoff dates are set! For the second year in a row the Cubs match up with the Rosetown Angels in the first round. We’ll be looking to change the outcome this year, starting Thursday on the road before a potential doubleheader at home Sunday. Come on out and cheer the boys on!

7:00 @ Rosetown
Game 2: Sunday July 19th

Cubs drop the season finale in a tight game to finish the regular season 9-3. Lots of highs and lows to recap in this one. Schafs started his first game on the hill for the cubbies, and in the process set the team record for most batters hit in one inning. Jace T unhitched the trailer and stole 2nd, 3rd, and home in the same inning. He will likely be on the injured list for several weeks now. The fellas might be flying to Toronto next week to run with the Junior Jays postgame, because we got picked off at first roughly 8 times tonight. Still haven’t quite figured out the left-handed pickoff move. We now wait to see how the standings finish up before facing our arch enemy, a playoff game. Stay tuned!
Regular season wraps up for the Cubs tonight, as Rosetown comes to town for what should be a good battle. It’s looking like a beautiful day for baseball, so come on out and cheer on some local “talent”. First pitch goes at 7:00 from Berard Field

We did not think at the start of the day we’d be making a post game recap. Huge shoutout to the Raiders for getting the diamond looking as good as it could look after a full week of rain. Cubs squeeze out a tight 5-3 win under the lights tonight. After showing up in the wrong jersey, Rhett’s still a little out of sorts, clearly. But he takes the ‘M’ flag after a solid game at the hot corner. The regular season wraps up Sunday as the Cubs host Rosetown on Flanagan.

Cubs make the trip North worth it, coming home with an 8-3 W in Kerrobert. Tough to throw 6 better innings than this guy did, so he gets the flag tonight. In other positive news, Seth hit another bomb to center field, which is becoming the norm. Back at it Tuesday vs. Rosetown
After a postponed game yesterday in Kerrobert, tonight’s game against the Raiders has also been postponed. Next scheduled action is tomorrow in Kerrobert pending the weather.
