Ruggedly beautiful views while hunting around Lake of the Woods in NW Ontario.

Mild winter temps and low snow have been a good break for the deer so far. Found these big beds while pulling a couple trail cams I had left out this fall. Some good pics coming!

My favourite time of year on Lake of the Woods. Fishing is still great. Ducks are gathering, grouse are strutting and deer activity is ramping up. But somehow, for a brief period, time seems to slow down after a busy summer and in anticipation of the big game season to come.

After an extended arctic blast, a little warmer temps have the wolves on the move.

Scouting some new territory payed off with this find last November. It’s not often you find a matched set from a big mature whitetail sitting so perfectly. I’ll be setting up on this ridge next fall. Who wants to be the first to sit this stand?

Everyday spent on Lake of the Woods whether it’s on the water or on it’s shores is always amazing.
