A little update for my dance community ❤️
I’m going to be taking a short hiatus from teaching while I take some time to tend to some health and family matters and be there for some important family members.
Because of this, I won’t be teaching classes in September or October. My hope is to possibly return to teaching in November, but I’ll keep everyone updated as things become clearer.
I’m sorry for the pause, and I truly appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and continued support. ❤️
For those who subscribe to my Patreon, I may not be adding new content or updates for the next little while. Please feel free to unsubscribe for now if you’d prefer, and I’ll let everyone know when I’m ready to return to Patreon.
In the meantime, if you’re looking for resources, exercises, music, or recommendations for ways to continue learning and practicing flamenco at home, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to point you in the right direction.
Thank you all so much for your support, understanding, and kindness during this time. ❤️💃
Much love Amira

We are getting so excited for all of the activities we have planned for Kelowna Made 2026. Thank you to Valley First and City of Kelowna for making it happen!
Here's a little peek at what goes on behind the scenes.
When people watch flamenco, they see the finished performance. We do our best to make it look effortless, but let me assure you—there's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears behind every piece.
Here's David and me working hard on our Fandangos de Huelva. It's not an easy task when you don't have a singer!
People who aren't familiar with flamenco often don't realize how much the singing—or cante, as it's called in flamenco—dictates where the sections begin and end, and how it guides and shapes the dance.
We're working through it together, and I'm incredibly grateful for this collaboration. I'm also so thankful to have access to a beautiful studio space where I can do my footwork without worrying about disturbing anyone.
It's challenging, it's rewarding, and we wouldn't trade it for anything.
