Cyclists, add this one to your strength routine 🚴‍♀️

This dynamic plank challenges your core, shoulders and hips to work together while you control rotation and coordinate opposite-side movement. Great for building the trunk stability and control that support a strong, stable position on the bike.

Why cyclists should try the single leg glute bridge 🚴‍♀️

Cycling involves repeated hip and knee extension, so building strength in the muscles that contribute to these movements can be a useful part of a cyclist’s strength training.

The single leg glute bridge trains:
• Glute strength during hip extension
• Single leg control
• Hip and pelvic stability
• Posterior chain strength

Because you’re working one leg at a time, it also challenges you to control the pelvis rather than relying on both sides to share the load.

You can have your success, but it is what you do with it and how you continue that is more important than the success on its own.

🚴‍♀️ Cycling tip: Your lowest position isn't always your best position.
Getting lower can improve aerodynamics, but a very compressed position can also influence respiratory mechanics. For some cyclists, this may make breathing feel more restricted, particularly as exercise intensity increases.
That doesn't mean you should avoid riding aero. The goal is to find a position that gives you the aerodynamic benefits you want without unnecessarily compromising comfortable breathing or power output.
Sometimes, a small adjustment in position can make a big difference in how you feel on the bike.

Cyclists, strengthen your ride! Seated twists target your obliques and rotational core, with an added challenge of the mini band. Give this one a try on your next strength day!

Be honest...what's the earliest your legs have ever called it quits?

Your bike fit matters most, but your body still needs the mobility to support it.
Cycling keeps your hips in a flexed position for long periods, especially when riding in the drops or a more aggressive setup. If you don't have enough hip flexion mobility, your body may find that range elsewhere, often through changes in pelvic position or increased movement in the lower back.
That's why improving hip mobility isn't about becoming more flexible than everyone else. It's about having enough mobility to comfortably maintain your riding position so you can spend more time focused on the road instead of adjusting because you're uncomfortable.
Mobility won't replace a professional bike fit, but the two work together to help you ride more comfortably.

Build strength where cyclists need it 🚴‍♀️

A side plank with leg lifts challenges the obliques, glute medius, and hip stabilizers at the same time. Strengthening these muscles may help improve pelvic and trunk stability, supporting better lower-body alignment and efficient force transfer while pedaling.
