When/how did we start? Why should you join now?
Tina Bo’bina LOVED Beyoncés first visual visual album. She wanted to dance to all the songs. So she asked her pals, who were already taking her Sexy Dance classes if they wanted to learn choreo and dance it onstage. They did! So this cast of 9, put on a full length show early 2014. It was not as grand as what you know our show's to be like now.... but... humble beginnings. Regardless of the size cast, we sold out 2 shows at the Sapphire Lounge.
Tina got started on the next show, adding 3 more dancers to be in their first round of "Classic Rock" shows. But first, they got asked to hit the road and bring their first show to Penticton.
The Mule (RIP) hired them to come to their huge 400+ person venue and perform! We danced for about 22 people that night..... like I said. Humble beginnings.
Tina danced at Center of Grabity Music festival for 10 years. Holding the dance manager title for 7. We Go-go-go'd in the 30-40 degree, direct sun heat all weekend long. While we were sad when the festival didn't continue, Tina knew that she couldn't continue to do the festival in her 30's 😂
We moved our show from the Sapphire Lounge to the main room! Initially Tina didn't think this room would work, it was so big, it had a "weird" layout, and the stage was not big enough. But with the support of Eddy + Tony (owners were f the venue) they made it happen.
They build a stage extension. Doubling the size of the stage, and let Tina store all her chairs year round, so we could have seats. Our first show in the room was "A Night at the Cinema" in 2017. We've been dying to bring back this theme for years!
Our team grew. After the first two shows, in the fall of 2014 Tina opened up registration for a session. 3 level offerings, all taught by Tina. Following that session she took on class assistants to help teach and choreo and by 2017 she had a few different teachers on the roster, adding new levels each session to keep up with the growing demand. We have had a beautiful team of teachers over the years and we are so thankful we had each team during the time we had it. We've made space for teachers and dancers to come and go as l
