It seems like yesterday that the 2026 CANCAST x Muskie Odyssey kicked off and we absolutely blew the doors off Peterborough.

And honestly, I haven’t posted much about it since.

Between the exhaustion, the constant question of “what’s next?” and trying to figure out how we possibly top it — while also improving the event and fixing the things we know we can do better — it’s been on my mind ever since.

If you told me 9 years ago that my team and I would be running a fishing show that brought more fishing vendors together in one city than any other angling event in the country, I would have told you that you were crazy.

If you told me we’d be partnering with an organization as great as Muskies Canada I probably would have said the same thing.

And then there are moments like having an incredible human, content creator and someone I’m lucky to call a friend in both business and life, Jay Siemens, come spend the day with us and his Catch + Cook — and then take the stage for an amazing seminar alongside the one and only Bob Izumi.

That one was pretty damn cool, and something I’m extremely grateful for.

So, for everyone who has been asking…

Yes, we’re coming back.

We’ll be releasing details soon. We’ll once again be partnering with our friends at Muskies Canada, and I’m confident we’ll have an incredible group of vendors, brands and speakers joining us again.

The first five-year plan for CANCAST is officially in the books.

There were bumps. There were lessons. There were some pretty incredible wins along the way and even some big losses, but we’re ready!

Now the next five-year plan begins.

We have new energy, new team members and some very big ideas.

And next year, we’re looking to do something that has never been done before in the Canadian fishing community.

Summer 2026 - Just Fishing Magazine

Another fantastic family trip to Lucky Lake Cottages. Always great seeing our family and spending the week together.

Sophia did it again! Our young lady is turning into quite the bass angler and managed some great fish during our stay Lucky Lake Cottages. She's a whiz with a ned rig!

This year's Fall Pike Challenge is on Saturday Sept 26th.

We will need a minimum of 10 teams to run it this year, if we don't I will promptly send everyone's entry fee back after the deadline (Thursday Sept 24th)

Payouts will be based on the total number of teams and will be posted Friday Sept 25 if the event is a go.

If we get 10 teams before that date, payouts will be posted as entries come in.

Entry fees will be taken up to Sept 24th
