Municipal elections!!
There is an all candidates meeting this Saturday Sept 19 at the Kosh Lake library.
We have developed a set of Questions for candidates, as follows. We have asked for their answers in writing and will put them on the website www.kasshabog.ca after we receive them. Please vote! We need the waterfront residents to be heard loud and clear. You can vote online. See instructions at www.hbmtwp.ca.
Questions:
1. Please remit a short bio outlining why you are running and any connections you might have to our lakes including:
-Current Residence
-Relevant past experience - Please include any experience in public service, as an elected official, on municipal or community committees, or participating in lake / lake association activities in HBM or elsewhere
-Why you are running for Council
2. What are your priorities as a member of council?
3. What infrastructure or other looming costs may impact waterfront property owners in the coming years?
4. What is your position on regulating STRs?
5. What is your position on implementing a septic re-inspection program?
6. What is your position on integrating shoreline preservation requirements into the building permit process?
7. Lakefront taxpayers are concerned and feel they get little for their tax dollars. What do you plan to do to help turn around this perception if elected?
8. What is the most important skill, background or expertise that you bring to this role that will help to deliver new services or programs for area lakes? Have you read the AMO guide for candidates "Lead where you live” or completed any of the AMO New Councillor education programs?
9. If you are running for re-election, what do you feel is your most significant accomplishment over the past 4 years?
