Three seasoned Dead Bear fellas and one newbie are heading out for their first night sit of the season!

Hopefully, the big meal of smoked salmon, bacon ranch beans and pasta salad will keep them fueled until this evening! 😋

Tonight is all about relaxing, enjoying some good food, and getting ready for the adventure that starts tomorrow.

We’ve got a big spread of sandwiches on BBQ’d cheesy buns and smoked salmon dip to keep everyone well fed tonight.

Tomorrow, the real fun begins!

The hunters arrive today for the first week of the black bear hunting season, which officially kicks off Tuesday!!

One of our hunters scored an extra-special bear last year—a beautiful colour-phase bear! 🐻

Mike has been in the woods his entire life and guiding for 30+ years, and in all that time, he had never come across a colour-phase bear. So, this was incredibly exciting—not only for Brian Sr., but for us as outfitters as well!

Brian Sr. and his son, Brian, drove up last week to pick up his mount. While they were here, they stopped in to see us, show off the finished bear, and, of course, make a stop at the Big Fiddle Still!

Congratulations again, Brian, on such a magnificent and special animal! It was an absolute privilege to be a part of the experience. 🐻❤️
