📣 Coaching Announcement!

We are excited to announce Andy Porter as our U9 HL Coach for the 2026-2027 Avalanche season! Welcome Andy! 🙌

Andy grew up playing minor hockey in Dundas. He also refereed boys’ minor hockey and has also been a team trainer. Andy has previously been an assistant coach for his oldest daughters’ team in the past few seasons in Ancaster.

Andy absolutely loves being on the bench and around the rink. In Andy’s words: “I believe fist bumps, taps on the pads and words of encouragement between teammates and coaches is the key to bringing positive energy to the rink. I’m very excited for this upcoming season!”

📣 Coaching Announcement!

We are excited to announce Hayleigh Cudmore as our U7 coach for the 2026-2027 season! We welcome Hayleigh to the Ancaster Avalanche with absolute excitement! She will be assisted by Brianne Jenner (PWHL Hamilton) at times throughout the season. 🙌

Hayleigh’s hockey career & experience is impressively decorated and thorough. She has played for the Calgary Inferno in the CWHL, a professional women’s hockey league from 2014-2018.

She was also impressively part of Team Canada’s National Women’s hockey program from 2009-2015, earning her spot on the Senior National Women’s team roster. Hayleigh has even travelled to Slovakia, Germany and Austria representing Canada on the National Women’s Under 22 team and was part of the U18 World Champion team win in 2010.

Prior to this, Hayleigh proudly represented women’s hockey by playing at Cornell University, NCAA Division 1 from 2010-2014.

We look forward to the start of the season with Hayleigh Cudmore leading our U7 Avalanche team and Brianne Jenner adding to the U7 fun and development. Thank you Hayleigh!

Our players across U7-U18 Ancaster Girls Hockey know how special our community truly is! If you know, you know!

The AAGHA feels like home amongst many friends made! Many of our older players started young and have played in the AAGHA for their entire path through hockey.

Our U7 House League program is built for Ages 5-6 at an introductory price of $250. The program runs October to March Break and is a great way to start building hockey skills at a young age, while making friends and having fun! 🙌

⚙️ As we gear up to host a winter weekend of competitive girls hockey in Ancaster, we know it takes a village! We look forward to sharing & showcasing our wonderful Ancaster village of shops, restaurants, experiences & local businesses with all of our tournament guests.

Our arena will be bustling January 15-17, 2027 with players, parents, siblings & extended families. Our village will become home for new and returning guests for the weekend! We’re excited to share all that Ancaster and our surrounding community have to offer ❤️

The Ancaster Avalanche Girls Hockey Association looks forward to hosting our Winter Shootout Tournament Jan 15-17th, 2027!

We will be hosting a large number of GHA & GTA teams, as well as out-of-town families, with teams from many cities staying over locally for the entire weekend!

With great pride for our Ancaster community and surrounding areas, we can’t wait to show our guests a great experience while they visit Ancaster & Hamilton! We’d love to share our favourite local restaurants, special shops, hidden local gems & awesome businesses with both our out-of-town guests and our local players/families during this exciting weekend!
