Whether you’re seasoned in House League or just getting started, let us welcome you to the game in 2026-2027!

Our Ancaster Avalanche Girls House League hockey is a great place to meet friends, have fun, build confidence, get exercise and develop your skills!

We offer age U9-U18 HL programs and it’s a great way to play the game of hockey amongst strong competition and alongside great teammates a couple times a week! House League can be for fun, exercise and competition or can be a development pathway to rep programs.

From Little Skaters to First Shift to House League or Rep,
one thing we know is you’re never too young to try, learn, develop and make new friends. At AAGHA, we have a variety of programs starting from a young age, leading into our House League Program or Competitive teams. And if you didn’t start young, that’s great too! We’ve got something for everyone and without question, the friends made along the way are the best part!

📖 The Story of First Shift

❓ What is First Shift?

The First Shift Program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. The program aims to make hockey accessible, affordable, safe & fun for 6-10 year olds.

❓ Who is First Shift for?
6-10 year olds that have not previously ever been registered in minor hockey

❓ What is the cost?
$299 registration fee which includes a full set of Bauer equipment and 6 on-ice trial sessions

❓ What is the goal?
A great way to introduce your child into trying the sport of hockey safely wearing proper equipment at an affordable cost. Have fun, learn basic skills and try the sport before fully committing to an entire season or extended costs.
