Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day, which recognizes the heritage and histories, diverse cultures and languages, and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Metis.
TEAD Therapeutic Riding Centre acknowledges the land on which we live and work is located on the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas. This territory is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt, an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe to share and care for the land and resources around the Great Lakes. We further acknowledge that this land is covered by the Between-the-Lakes Purchase of 1792, between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

Together on June 10th at MontHill Golf & Country Club, we welcomed 120 golfers and 225 dinner guests and raised an outstanding $116,900 (and counting) with over $50,000 raised LIVE in support of TEAD Therapeutic Riding Centre. π΄πβ³
From our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and golfers to our dinner guests and auction bidders, every person played a role in making this event possible. Your generosity will directly support life-changing therapeutic riding programs, equine-assisted learning opportunities, and the care of the remarkable horses who make TEAD's mission possible. Thank you for believing in the power of horses to change lives. β¨
This year, we were honoured to recognize Mercedes Palermo as TEADβs Force For
Good Award recipient. As a passionate advocate, community leader, and founder of Autism Out Loud, her story is one of courage, determination, and unwavering commitment to creating a better world for others. Congratulations, Mercedes! π
Annually, TEAD must raise over $400,000 to empower individuals with disabilities through the transformative power of equine-assisted therapy. Every dollar raised helps TEAD provide accessible, life-changing programming for children, youth and adults with disabilities. Your support helps fund:
π΄ Therapeutic riding lessons and unmounted supports
π΄ Equine-assisted learning and wellness programs
π΄ Accessible camp experiences
π΄ Care, feeding, and wellness for our therapy horses
π΄ Volunteer training, program delivery and more!
On behalf of TEADβs Board of Directors, Staff and over 400 volunteers, thank you for helping us to ensure that TEAD can continue to be a place of belonging, confidence, healing, and growth. π
Thanks to Matko Photo , weβll soon be sharing a full photo gallery with guests in attendance. If you attended on June 10th, stay tuned to receive access and to download your photos. For now, scroll for a sneak peak!
