Sport Nova Scotia is proud to announce that August’s Cleve’s Source for Sports Impact Award recipients are Zhiqing (Audrey) Wang and Marina Reny!

🏸 Audrey was a member of the U17 Junior National Team that represented Canada at the 2027 Junior Pan Am Championships in Joao Pessoa, Brazil from July 22-26. Her tournament was highlighted by winning a silver medal in women’s doubles – beating the top seeded USA team in semifinals before losing in the finals to the second seeded team from Canada.

🏄‍♀️ Marina is the Surfing Association of Nova Scotia (SANS) treasurer and since taking on the role she has helped establish and maintain financial records, introduced new efficiencies and helped improve insurance coverage and policies. Marina’s dedication, competence and commitment to SANS have strengthened both the organization’s operations and the community it serves.

Are you an alumni of the Black and Indigenous Coach Mentorship Program? We want to connect with you as we prepare to launch the final cohort of the program next month. 🗣

All former mentors and mentees are eligible to join us again as we work to create safe and supportive learning communities where Black and Indigenous coaches will connect, share experiences and develop leadership skills to strengthen coaching pathways in our province. This final cohort is an opportunity to honour the program’s legacy while building what comes next.
