Saint Mary's men's soccer head coach Mesut Mert is pleased to announce the commitment of Daniel Covelli to the Huskies line-up for the upcoming 2026 season.

A 6'0" goalkeeper from Ottawa, Ontario, Daniel Covelli joins the Huskies out of Callies United in the Alberta Premier League.

Covelli is a transfer from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. He previously played at Oakville SC, Woodstock Academy and South Kent School.

Covelli starred for Oakville SC during the 2025 season, recording seven clean sheets in 13 starts, and was named a finalist for the League2 Ontario Goalkeeper of the Year.

During his prep school career in Connecticut, Covelli played 54 games, including eight matches against MLS Next U19 opponents such as Atlanta United and New England Revolution. He won back-to-back U.S. Prep School National Championships in 2023 (Woodstock Academy) and 2022 (South Kent School), and also helped lead South Kent to the 2023 U19 Jefferson Cup Championship.

Covelli is described as a quality goalkeeper with quick reflexes, ability to close-down opponents, and an effective communicator.

"I am excited to join Saint Mary's!" says Daniel. "I look forward to meeting my teammates and working hard with them and our coaches to get the program back into the playoffs where it belongs."

Covelli will be studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Saint Mary's.

Saint Mary’s women's basketball coach Scott Munro pleased to announce the commitment of Darah Fleurgin to the Huskies line-up for the 2026-27 season.

Fleurgin, a 6'0" forward from Montreal, Quebec, has played the last two seasons with the Lake City 56ers in the Maritime Women's Basketball Association (MWBA).

Fleurgin previously played two seasons with the Cape Breton Capers from 2022-24, where she was named to the 2022-23 AUS All-Rookie Team, and averaged 6.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 steals over 39 games played.

"We are excited to add Darah to our lineup!" says Huskies head coach Scott Munro. "She will make an immediate impact with her ability to defend multiple positions, rebound the basketball and get out in transition.”

Fleurgin will be studying a Bachelor of Arts at Saint Mary's, with plans to major in Psychology.

Saint Mary’s Cross Country and Track & Field coaches Jonathan Peverill and Ian MacDonald are pleased to announce the commitment of Glendon Snow to the Huskies line-up for the 2026-27 season.

Glendon Snow, a 5'10" sprinter from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, joins the Huskies out of Dartmouth High School and Pace Athletics.

Snow won multiple medals at the 2026 SSNS Provincial Track & Field Championship, including silver medals in the 100m and 4x100m relay, and a bronze in the 200m.

Snow comes into Saint Mary's with personal best times of 7.1 in the 60m, 10.9 in the 100m, 21.9 in the 200m, and 51.8 in the 400m.

"I am thrilled to announce my commitment to Saint Mary's, and I can't wait to start this new academic and athletic chapter of my life," says Glendon. "I am incredibly grateful to my family, coaches and teammates, who have supported me every step of the way."

Snow will be studying a Bachelor of Engineering at Saint Mary's.

Saint Mary’s Cross Country and Track & Field coaches Jonathan Peverill and Ian MacDonald are pleased to announce the commitment of Eleni Arvanitis to the Huskies line-up for the 2026-27 season.

Eleni Arvanitis, a 5'6" sprinter from Calgary, Alberta, joins the Huskies out of West Island College and Calgary International Track Club.

Eleni has won multiple provincial relay medals, including a gold medal in the 4x800 and silver medal in the 4x200 at the 2026 Alberta Indoor Games, as well as a gold medal in the 4x400 at the BC Indoor Championships.

Arvanitis comes into Saint Mary's with personal best times of 46.32 in the 300m and 1:45.93 in the 600m.

"I can't wait to represent the Huskies and I'm looking forward to continuing my track career and furthering my education at Saint Mary's," says Eleni. "This has been something I've been working towards for a long time, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity! Go Huskies!"

Saint Mary's men's soccer head coach Mesut Mert is pleased to announce the commitment of Isai Gibbons to the Huskies line-up for the upcoming 2026 season.

A 5'9" winger / full back from Bermuda, Isai Gibbons joins the Huskies out of Saltus Grammar School and St. George's Colts.

Gibbons recently represented his home country of Bermuda at the 2026 CONCACAF U20 Championship qualifying tournament, and at the U17 World Cup qualifiers in 2025.

Gibbons plays club for the St. George's Colts in the Bermuda Men's Premier Division, the highest level of professional football in Bermuda, who recently were defeated in the semifinal of Bermuda's F.A Challenge Cup.

Gibbons previously represented FC Bascome at the U13 to U18 levels, helping lead his team to a league championship in 2024-25. He was nominated as Bermuda's Young Player of the Year in both 2026 and 2025, and also competed in the 2026 Bermuda U18 All-Star game.

Gibbons is described as a versatile, passionate and calculated team player who can adapt his play and position as the game develops.

"I am very excited to commit to Saint Mary's to play soccer, and I believe that I can bring something special to the team," says Gibbons, who's father graduated from Saint Mary's in 2006. "I look forward to getting on the pitch, settling into a new environment and building a relationship with my new teammates."

Gibbons will be studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Saint Mary's, with plans to major in Management.

Saint Mary's men's soccer head coach Mesut Mert is pleased to announce the commitment of Sami Carolo to the Huskies line-up for the upcoming 2026 season.

A 5'10" attacking midfielder from Bermuda, Sami Carolo joins the Huskies out of Mount Saint Agnes Academy and Robin Hood FC.

Carolo was recently named the Young Player of the Year at the Bermuda Football Association Youth Awards, and was named U18 Most Valuable Player for the second straight year, as well as a league all-star. He was previously named MVP at the U15 and U13 levels.

In 2025, Carolo represented Bermuda at the CONCACAF U17 Championship, recording an assist in a win over Turks and Caicos. He has also represented his home country on the international stage at the U15 and U14 levels. He also led his Mount Saint Agnes Academy team to a six-a-side championship and was named MVP.

Carolo is described as a dedicated and hard working leader, who has captained his teams at all age levels. He consistently performs as a top player in his age group, and is considered an all-around midfielder who can score goals, create opportunities for his teammates and is strong defensively.

"I'm excited to continue our family legacy by attending Saint Mary's and continuing to develop my soccer skills," says Carolo, who's mother and father both attended Saint Mary's. "I can't wait to meet my teammates and make memories with the Huskies varsity soccer team!"

Carolo will be studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Saint Mary's.

Atlantic University Sport is pleased to announce Saint Mary's Huskies men's hockey student-athlete Charlie Da Fonseca as Saint Mary's University’s recipient of the AUS PepsiCo James Bayer Memorial Scholarship Award.

Saint Mary's men's soccer head coach Mesut Mert is pleased to announce the commitment of Jacob White to the Huskies line-up for the upcoming 2026 season.

A 5'9" defender out of Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia, Jacob White joins the Huskies out of Bay View High School and Halifax County United.

White is currently playing for the Halifax County United U18 squad in the NSSL Senior Men's AA division.

White previously represented HCU at the U17 & U15 AAA levels, captaining the U17 team in 2025, and leading the team to back-to-back provincial championships and trips to U17 Nationals in 2025 & 2024, as well as the U15 Nationals in 2022. He was also named the 2023-24 Bay View High Rookie of the Year.

White is described as a strong defensive player who can play multiple positions, with the ability to go forward and create attacking opportunities.

"I'm excited to commit to Saint Mary's and have the opportunity to represent the Huskies," says Jacob. "I look forward to competing at the next level and contributing to a strong team environment."

White will be studying a Bachelor of Engineering at Saint Mary's.
