Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures in our dojo community and beyond!

Thank you for the countless hours spent supporting your children, driving them to class, cheering them on, helping them through challenges, and encouraging them to become the best versions of themselves.

The values we strive to teach on the mat: respect, perseverance, discipline, and kindness, are often first learned at home through the example you set every day.

We hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day filled with family, laughter, and appreciation for all that you do.

Aikido is often called the “Way of Harmony,” and let’s be honest—if there’s anyone who masters the art of keeping the peace while managing chaos, it’s a mom. Whether she’s a practitioner on the mat or the strongest supporter on the sidelines, we celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and grace that mothers bring to our community every day.

The Third Scroll: A simple clash between light and dark, perhaps. But look deeper. Here, in the gritty dojo, two hearts clash and in that collision, they grow. A worthy opponent is not a foe to be vanquished, but a mirror in which we see our own limits, and thus, find the strength to transcend them.

The Second Scroll: The shadow you face may loom colossal, a monster from a hidden cave. It is not the beast, but your own fear of the unknown that gives it that massive size. Embrace this fear, breathe, and you will see that even the largest shadow can be moved with stillness.

Happy Star Wars Day!

The First Scroll: This is the duel with your own reflection. The true test of aiki (harmony) is not found in a fight with a rival, but in conquering the enemy that resides within—your own hesitation, your own pride. In this duel, there is no loser; only a deeper understanding of the self.

What a pleasant surprise to have Sensei from the Aishinjuku visit us last night, it was a wonderful class!
