Notice of Resignation
To the Board of Directors and Members of the Greenwood Skating Club:
After considerable thought, I am formally resigning from all positions, offices, director responsibilities, and operational responsibilities that I currently hold with the Greenwood Skating Club, including my position as President and any acting or additional responsibilities I have assumed.
My resignation is effective immediately.
I have communicated on several occasions that I was no longer able to continue in these roles and responsibilities. Despite this, I have continued to step in and carry the work required to keep the organization operating because I care deeply about the Greenwood Skating Club, its skaters, its families, and its future.
However, I have reached the point where continuing to do so is no longer sustainable for me. I need to step away completely.
I recognize that the club currently needs leadership and that there may not be someone immediately available to take over these responsibilities. Unfortunately, that cannot be the reason I continue. I will not be continuing in an interim, acting, or operational capacity while the club searches for a replacement. The responsibility for determining the club's leadership and how it will move forward now rests with the Board and membership.
I am willing to provide the Board with the records, information, passwords, outstanding items, contacts, and other materials in my possession that are necessary for a reasonable handover. I am happy to facilitate the transfer of this information; however, this should not be understood as an agreement to continue performing the duties of President, Director, or any other position after my resignation.
This decision is not a reflection of how much I care about the club. I have continued well beyond what I originally felt I was able to do because I wanted to see the organization succeed and ensure that the skaters and families were supported. I am proud of the work that has been accomplished and of the time and effort that many volunteers have contributed over the years.
At this point, however, I need to prioritize my own capacity and step away from the responsibility of carrying the organization.
I sincerely hope that new leadership will come forward and that the Greenwood Skating Club will be able to move forward in a positive direction. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the club and for the people I have had the privilege of working with.
Thank you for respecting my decision.

Important Update: 2026–2027 Skating Season
Dear Greenwood Skating Club Families,
We want to provide an important update as we work to plan the upcoming skating season.
Club executives and coaches have been working hard to continue regular operations. However, with the closure of our rink, the limited rinks in the community and the high volume of ice sports in the Annapolis Valley, we will not be able to offer all of our usual programming this season. At this time, the PowerSkate program and Adult program will not be able to run.
We are also working with the available ice in our surrounding communities, and ice may need to be shared between the Middleton and Bridgetown rinks. We understand this may mean some changes for families, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility while we work to make the season possible.
⛸️ Possible Ice Schedule Oct-Mar
Sundays – Middleton
Pre-CanSkate
CanSkate
Junior / Star 1
Star 2+
Wednesdays – Bridgetown
Junior / Star 1
Star 2+
Please note that times/rinks are still being finalized and may be adjusted as we confirm ice availability.
🚨 We Need Your Help!
For the Greenwood Skating Club to continue operating, we urgently need volunteers and leadership support.
We are currently looking for:
⭐️President – urgently needed. We cannot run programs without one. Military members, civilians may be allowed. Please message or email your interest to [email protected]
⭐️Parent volunteers to help with club operations and board duties
⭐️Families willing to assist throughout the season
We also need every family who is interested in skating this season to complete the Interest Form ASAP. This information is extremely important as we determine registration numbers, ice requirements, program costs and how we can structure the available programs.
👉 Please complete the Interest Form as soon as possible, even if you are uncertain about the proposed schedule.

We know this is not the update anyone hoped for, but we are committed to finding a way forward for our skaters. The continued support and involvement of our skating families will be essential to keeping the Greenwood Skating Club going.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of our skaters. ❤️⛸️
Please watch for further updates as we confirm ice times and program details.

We are devastated, we have had many years in the Greenwood Gardens (53 to be exact)
Due to the unexpected closure of our rink, all skating programs are temporarily on hold. We understand how disappointing this is and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
Our team is actively working to secure alternate locations so we can resume programming as soon as possible. We will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the ice soon.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist with making this season run. Please reach out to us if you have any time :)
