I donât even know where to begin.
Today was one of those days that reminds you just how special a community can be. â€ïž
Our first-ever East End Summer Carnival exceeded every expectation I had. Seeing hundreds of smiles, children laughing, neighbours reconnecting, and so many new faces discovering everything our little corner of the city has to offer was incredibly heartwarming.
But the part that has stayed with me the most is watching our East End Youth Council shine.
Months ago, this was just an idea. Today, I watched these young people proudly welcome families, run activities, encourage younger children, solve problems, and truly take ownership of something they helped build. They painted our shed, planned activities, volunteered countless hours, and proved that when we believe in our youth, they will rise to every occasion.
To every member of our Youth Council: I am beyond proud of you. Your kindness, leadership, work ethic, and dedication inspire me more than you know. Today belonged to all of you.
To every volunteer, sponsor, donor, committee member, community partner, family, and neighbour who lent a handâthank you. Whether you donated supplies, served food, set up tables, entertained kids, or simply came out to support us, you helped make today possible. It truly took a village, and what an incredible village we have.
Iâm also so grateful for all of the conversations I had today. Meeting so many new people, hearing your ideas, your stories, and your excitement for our neighbourhood reminded me why community work matters so much. The East End is filled with people who care deeply about where they live and about one another.
Today wasnât just a carnival. It was a reminder of whatâs possible when a community comes together with one shared goal: creating something joyful for our families and believing in the next generation.
My heart is so full, and I couldnât be prouder to call the East End home.
Hereâs to the first of many. â€ïžđȘđ
Thank you, East End. We did something really special today. â€ïž

NEW at East End. We purchased a used DVD player for $25 and before we spend more money we turn to our friends and supporters. If you have DVDâs (not BluRay) youâve outgrown that are rated G or PG consider donating to East End. Cartoons, movies and sports would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey Council, this Sunday 1-3! See you there! đ

Aanii / Boozhoo / Hello!
To the anonymous builders responsible for the impressive new structure at the park:
We see you. đ
We are equal parts impressed, confused, and mildly concerned by the speed at which this project appeared.
Clearly there are some future architects, engineers, project managers, and construction crews living in our neighbourhood.
If youâve got ideas, initiative, and a habit of looking at a pile of sticks and seeing potential, the East End Youth Council might be exactly your thing.
Join us on June 20 at 1:00 PM and help us build the next great East End projectâpreferably one that survives the permit process. đ
We hope to see you there!
