💙 A Friendly Reminder from Nickel Centre Soccer ⚽️

We just wanted to send out a little reminder about our accessible/handicap parking spot at the field.

We only have one designated accessible spot, so it’s really important that we keep it clear and accessible for those who genuinely need it. 💙
It’s a bit of a bummer for someone who needs the spot to arrive, hoping to park closer to the field, only to find that the access area is blocked by another vehicle.

We kindly ask everyone to please keep the designated accessible parking space and access area clear, even if you’re only stopping for a few minutes. Your consideration can make a big difference for another family.

🚨 Soccer Cancelled – Tuesday, July 14 🚨

Due to poor air quality, all Nickel Centre Soccer activities are cancelled today, Tuesday, July 14.
The health and safety of our players, families, coaches, and volunteers is our top priority. We encourage everyone to stay indoors as much as possible and limit outdoor activity until air quality improves.

Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe, and we'll keep everyone updated on any further changes.

*** Weather Policy Update ***

After much thought and consideration at our board meeting last night we decided to bring some changes to the Weather Policy. **(Please note that the document will be updated at a later date so this post takes precedence until further notice)**

In the section for Extreme Heat:
Humidex between 36 and 40 degrees:
Attendance will be left to the parents and caregivers discretion, notifying your coach as a courtesy (or emailing the board at [email protected] if you don’t know who your coach is) Referees and coaches will be notified.
Humidex of 41 and above: Games will automatically be cancelled and not rescheduled.

Our sources for weather will be Environment Canada’s website https://weather.gc.ca/canada_e.html OR Environment Canada’s Apps WeatherCAN (which can be found on their website) with the location being Falconbridge(Sudbury) specifically . No other sources will be considered.
