Game Country Archers

Here they are! A few images captured during our first Glow Shoot. Nine glow in the dark targets, 35 archers. So much fun! Kudos to Ryan from the Game Country Archers board for putting it all together. Thank you to everyone who showed up and the various contributors for their photos. We will definitely try to make this happen again.

🏹 What a weekend! A fantastic Hunter Shoot has come to an end. New events - watch for photos from the inaugural Glow Shoot - as well as a 100 yard “Shoot the Tube”, great attendance,and the annual Grand Prix shoot. Thank you everyone who participated in both heat and rain, volunteered with set up and take down and in some way supported the club. We look forward to hosting you again in 2027! 🎯

Heading to the range this weekend for the shoot? The road in front of the Tara Centre will be closed for the County of GP 75th Anniversary celebration. Be prepared to take the first right once you turn off Resources Road and make your way to the range going past the ball diamonds.

Camping in the parking lot will not be permitted this year. Camping space has been reserved at the Wapiti Lot—please refer to the map in this post for its location. Due to park rules, no camp fires.

🏹 HUNTER SHOOT WORK BEE 🏹

We’re looking for volunteers to help set up targets and prepare the outdoor range for our upcoming Hunter Shoot!

• Starting at 6:30 PM both evenings

⚠️ The outdoor range will be closed while setup is underway.

Volunteer hours will count toward your 2027 membership discount.

Any help is greatly appreciated—many hands make light work!

When the sun goes down on Saturday, August 22, the fun isn't over.

We're planning Game Country Archers' first-ever Glow Shoot! 🎯✨

Once it's pitch black, archers will head back onto the course to tackle 9 glow-in-the-dark 3D targets scattered throughout the loop. It's a whole new way to experience 3D archery!

We're still putting the finishing touches on the event, but here's what you can expect:
🎯 9 glowing 3D targets
🌌 Shooting begins after dark
💡 Lighted pathways and safety lighting throughout the course
📋 Safety briefing and event rules before the shoot

This will be an optional night time event during our Hunter Shoot, and we think it's going to be a blast!

One thing is for certain... bring your lighted nocks! 💥🏹

Who's ready to light up the range? 🌟

For our Father’s Day Shoot, the Board of Game Country Archers chose to donate proceeds to Ken Sargent House. Entry fees were by donation which went directly to the final amount. We are pleased to share that with the generosity of the participants, GCA was able to donate $4000 to this very worthy local charity!

Thank you to Dale Bond, Director of Ken Sargent House, for coming to the range to accept the donation. And thank you to all those who participated!
