A local, non-profit club that sets and grooms classic and skate ski trails in the Grande Cache area. The campground trails are lit at night.
The Smoky River Nordic Ski Club is run by volunteers and sets cross country, skate skiing, snowshoeing and walking trails at the municipal campground, Grande Cache Golf and Country Club, at Pierre Grey's Lakes Provincial Park. Fantastic trails and low fees: Daily Pass: $10.00, Annual fees only $60/person, or $120/family. Please support the club if you plan on skiing this year. Call our President:

Hello Nordic folks! The main roads down at PG Lakes have been reset- unfortunately the golf course, campground and single track trails at PG Lakes need more snow- however some skiing to be had!
Trails at PG Lakes are set and in beautiful condition!! Thank you to all our volunteer groomers! Get out and enjoy the snow.
Well. We were out again working on the walking trails; trying to get a nice solid groomed base set up! The trails look great. We packed and groomed (thanks again Justin Beadow for all the help)!:

A couple newbies got out on the snowdogs yesterday to help groom the walking trails! Thanks to Justin Beadow for all the help! Only minor repairs needed (those trees can jump out in front of you 😊). New appreciation for how much work this is- thank you Mike Southern for all your hard work over the last couple years.

Well. We have the best volunteers ever!! They were out Christmas Day. Golf Course and Campground are set. Great conditions (a little thin at the campground). Walking trail is set as well. Please only walk on the designated trails. Enjoy the holiday skiing!

Walking trail is beautiful up at the golf course! (Please do not walk on the ski trails).
Happy holidays everyone! Campground and golf course have been set!! First skiing of the year. Things are still pretty thin so be careful. Thank you to our volunteer groomers. Some of which are also out on all the community walking trails- getting those groomed as well!
