✨This evening we had to say goodbye to a special horse. „Cuttin Fridays Class“ aka Friday (2004-2026) was our second horse we purchased when we moved to Canada. Originally we got her for my husband who wanted a black & white paint. When I started to teach lessons at our farm, Friday very quickly became a wonderful teacher for children and adults. Her calm and smooth trot made it easy to learn to sit. But she also had her quirks and a lot of personality which kept every ride interesting! Overall she was a great partner to work with over the years.
Friday retired from lessons last year, today we let her go on a good day 💫. You will be greatly missed, rest easy beautiful girl, love you always ❤️.

☀️ Another week of kids camp has passed and it was a hot one! It was a week of ba****ck riding at walk/trot/canter, flatwork and jumping in saddle…then pool time to cool off 💦
💥 The confidence in these girls was outstanding and it was great to see them grow even more during the week!
💦 All horses loved their cool showers after the rides. The girls learned that there’s important steps to consider if you cool a horse down in those hot temperatures.
🌟 The last day was show day. As usual family and friends are invited to watch what the kids learned during the week. Thanks for another wonderful camp week 💕.

When I send the girls off to get their horses and this is what I find 😆.

🌟 First week of camp was a hit! The first day was a hot one so we took it easy with ba****ck riding and horse themed cross word search learning about body parts of the horse. Then hosing horses down after riding 💦. The week went so quick and was full of learning and improving horsemanship and riding skills. Confidence grew day by day and the kids were proud to show off on the last day of what they learned during the week ❤️.

Gotta love summer 🦟🥵🦟! Trying to keep animals and ourselves as cool as possible in these very hot and humid days.

If I am given the opportunity to work with/ teach someone over a longer period of time (years), it’s one of the most wonderful and rewarding thing to see how everything starts to fall in place. When a person who’s hesitant to walk up to a horse at first learns to be confident and step by step becomes the leader. When self-awareness allows them to be present and connect with the horse. When hands move to the right places and it becomes natural to do things properly to be safe. When they learn „to feel“ and their body starts to be one with the horse.
All that is way more than „just riding a horse“. It’s growth and it never stops. It’s learning about horses and ourselves. It‘s about learning to try, fail and not give up and try again. It‘s about learning to trust and building relationships. It‘s true and from the ground up. It’s about becoming the best person we can be through connecting and working with horses. And that’s what we do here at Classical Equitation and we‘re proud of it 💖

💦 Today it‘s a rainy day but just a couple of days ago it was hot and horses and riders were sweaty and sticky. Nobody wanted to move 😆.
